Many causes, probably the straw that broke the camels back though was their Diablo mobile announcement at Blizzcon. That one is gonna be a meme for years to come.
Paying gold for a monthly sub for a game you pretend to hate? Iâd really hate to think you chill this much on a forum for a game you pretend to hate, that would be really bad.
Not particularly. We knew, or if you didnât, you should have, going into it that there would be ddos levels of traffic flowing into their login servers.
Can we send some of those millions to my server? My server isnât dead but it isnât what it used to be!
ion ran off all the customers with a bad expansion, and 10 month wait on flight.
It was down a ton before then. The entire tech sector crashed hard right before Blizcon. I listed a dozen big tech and gaming stocks that crashed the same amount as Activision Blizzard did in the same period. May recoved but ActiBlizz hasnât nearly as much. Part of that is because of the lack of AAA titles being released this year. Also their last bunch of AAA titles from last year all under performed. This year theyâve on released 3 games (two were remasters and only one new AAA title) and have 1 more CoD title coming out at the end of the year. That is not the kind of portfolio I would be jumping on. Blizzard has nothing coming out all year.
Seeing people blaming bfa for a massive corporation like acti-blizzâs stock falling is adorable. Lower stock prices his year is an industry wide issue with the mega publishers right now.
Well said lmfao!
And that crash was part of a larger market movement itself too. Still, if I remember right, their stocks were climbing back up in anticipation of Blizzcon, then crashed right back down again and pretty much stayed there.
I actually do that, I love WoW, I love Azeroth, but I hate itâs current iteration, I think Blizzard has the capacity to do way better than that and I want to support the company, at least Classic is right around to corner so I can have something fun to do until I wait WoW to be a MMORPG again.
you said it.
You have some numbers to show those millions on millions? Wowrealmpop isnt perfect but it puts eu and na at less than 1.5 three weeks ago. Liking the expansion is your absolute right. Dont try to act like it didnt cost as many players as WoD though.
are you sure it wasnât the diablo announcement that caused it.
It had like a $2 spike over a couple day period before it. Keep in mind their quartly call happened right after Blizzcon when they announced D2, CoD, and Overwatch under performing as well as to expect a lean 2019. I am betting that had a bit more to do with it then Diablo Immoral.
Yeah I am fairly sure the nearly $15 drop before it wasnât cause by D:I. Also the Activision Blizzard earnings call after Blizcon most likely had a âbitâ to do with it.
Absolutely. Diablo Immortal was just the nail in the coffin ensuring it wouldnât recover.
Do you guys not have phones ?
Lol no. Seriously. They had their quartly earning call right after Blizzcon. In it they announced that Destiny 2, CoD, and Overwatch all under performed. They then announced that 2019 was going to be a lean year for new releases. Diablo Immortal had nothing to do with it NOTHING. What did was the lack of new AAA games at Blizzcon. No news on D3 xpac, no news on D4, no news on any new AAA titles. It had nothing to do with what they announced it was the lack of news that caused problems followed by confirmation on the earnings call that there was nothing new coming out.
Let be honest here. Ion and friends is not helping blizzard at all.
