What Game Was The Most Memorable For You?

Oh shoot I completely forgot about Commander Keen.
I played this on like Windows 95 LOL!!!

Hollow Knight. Arguably the best game of this generation.

Lunar I and Lunar II: Eternal Blue first introduced me to video games that told stories. Before that it was plumbers throwing turnips at dinosaurs.

Final Fantasy 3 was also very exciting!

Metal gear solid 2 for me.

Masterpiece of a game. Masterpiece of a series.

For me it would have to be Chrono Cross for the PS1.

Mainly because, I grew up when Calicovision was all we had ie Pong. After that video games became the forbidden, banned fruit in my home. I grew up playing on friends’s Atari’s.Nintendo ect.

When I got my first apt I went and bought a PS1 with handfuls of games.Out of all I played CC really stood out story wise ect, never beat the Time Devouerer phase 2 though.

The original Half-Life left a pretty big impression.

Everquest, the newness and expansiveness were amazing.

Chrono cross and Chrono trigger.

In that order. The music in cross is so well written and preformed. And the story is just amazing between the two games.

FF9 is also a close tie, that also having an amazing story and soundtrack, You are not alone being one of my favorite songs to this day.

The Xenosaga trilogy. To this day, I cite it as my favorite JRPG of all time; I only regret that I was too young to fully understand all of the deep philosophical and religious ideologies used to craft its story and universe, as they continue to fascinate me to this day.

I’m going to be forever upset that the likelihood of an HD remaster is less than 0 right now.

Additional shoutout to Pathologic, probably the only game I’ve played that actively sought to hurt me and make my experience as unfun and stressful as possible - and I loved every dang minute of it.

Skies of Arcadia. It was a turn-based RPG back on the Dreamcast and was rereleased on the Gamecube. It was about a ragtag group of air pirates traversing the world and taking out giant constructs of ancient civilizations. I like to go back and play the game every few years.

The Mass Effect Trillogy.

Okay the ending was . . . something, but everything else about that game was absolutely amazing. From the first view of Sovereign in Edem Prime, to the Battle of the Citadel, to the Suicide Mission, to the Reaper invasion of Earth, and so many other amazing moments, it became my favorite game and I won’t let its lackluster end ruin that.

Another would be Destiny 2’s Witch Queen expansion. The reveal of the origins of the Hive was an amazing twist and the reveal of the Witness at the very end . . .

Such a bizarre looking character

Voiced by Brett Dalton, Grant Ward/Hive from Agents of SHIELD

Finally, a WoW related moment: Finally killing Arthas back in Wrath.

A 2D side to side scroller called ā€˜Abuse’ aliens on endless levels with puzzles etc., led me finding Diablo in like 1996 or 7 and it was Diablo all the way up to last week running on the new ladder for d2r. So Diablo was the one that really hooked me.

Zork
Ultima 4
Super Mario Brothers
Myst
Dragons Liar
Unreal Tournament ( up to 2004 )
Halflife 2
Portal
Starcraft
Tekken
Starwars Galaxies

Currently the games I keep going back to
Civ V
Craft the World
Minecraft
Terria
Valheim

TES: Oblivion
Runescape
Dynasty Warriors 2
Medieval 2 Total war
Spyro
Gauntlet Legends.

I know you asked for one, but these games are my favourite. They started me on this gaming journey, and I still continue to play games that are either the next chapter of those, or something similar.

Diablo
SSX Tricky
Delta Force 2

I always played Mario 64 and was horrible at it. It did spawn my interest in exploration type games since I would rather run around than beat levels.

my first game ever was donkey kong 64, that kinda set me off on the path.

After that I’d say halo 1 and morrowind were my biggest influences

Tradewars 2000. Why? That is where I met my spouse. Rather we were each other’s nemesis in the game. We always strived to destroy each other’s home sectors as quickly as possible after each reset. We also played a game called Majormud on the same server. They were a lawful paladin and I was an evil ranger. I would hunt and kill them all the time.

Strangely, after that we started hanging out, dated, and got married over 20 years ago

Ay, another guy found my most memorable game!

Games that stuck with me long after they ended:

BioShock & BioShock Infinite w/ Buried at Sea
SpecOps, The Line
Knights of the Old Republic
Deus Ex
Mass Effect trilogy (except the ending of 3 because #@! that copy paste garbage)
