Yep. Hivemind can be a thing (see some subreddits), but keeping trolling, baiting, etc, under control isnā€™t really hivemind, itā€™s just keeping the community functional.

Mmo champion is far worse. Itā€™s mostly ex players who have a gear to grind against Blizz.

MMO-Champā€™s front page used to be one the the places to go to for WoW news and datamining (I think I first came across it back in TBC or WotLK), but over the years either Wowhead lept ahead or MMOC fell behind, Iā€™m not sure which.

I still use MMO-C for news/datamining though, because even though they lag behind in that aspect, their site isnā€™t dripping in sketchy ads that sometimes punch through ad blockers like Wowhead tends to.

Depends on the day, but Iā€™ve only ever received a 24hr time out on this forum. Champs drops the infractions and thread closings pretty quick.

This forum seems to have 1 relevant topic out of every 50. The other 49 topics are little kid wishful thinking stuff that gets bumped by the same guy over and over.

Yeah you want tails on your Worgen. Iā€™m sure somebody in Afghanistan or Iraq cares about that.

im pretty experienced on both forums. skrap bot is a plain rude to you all the time on mmo champion forums. blizzard seems to have a clear indication of forum conduct that is pretty simple to follow. mmo-champion are a bunch of rude mother #@$%#$@.

If weā€™re comparing the two:

People on the WoW forums are the boomers of the internet. They hate change and they donā€™t believe anything unless its slapping them in the face.

I find people on MMOchamp are much more open to discussing rumors, leaks, and supposed changes in the game. Which makes sense, there are industry insiders who use MMOchamp to leak details.

But of course, when 1 reliable industry insider starts posting, you have a thousand other fake ones who want to make up their own leaks to share. So it becomes a battle of finding out which one is the real one.
