What faction for targets?

What faction is going to be the
overpopulated flavor of the month in SoD so I can roll the other one and have more people to gank?

Play the one you enjoy more

If I were to guess there will be a few more alliance players - but who knows what will actually happen.

With a low level cap - the tides could change pretty fast if certain things are OP on one faction and lots of people decide to swap.

I, Sir, am of the same mind

It will be 80:20 in favour of Alliance, no doubt

There is no doubt the Alliance will have the larger numbers. Blizz ensured this when they gave the alliance all the shammy buffs but better and made paladins by far the dominate class for SoD. The real question is, how unbalanced will it be? I’m guessing 65-35.

i will probably follow the crowd as i am a very casual lazy dad now. I still may go back to my roots and be a troll rogue or an orc hunter or maybe mix it up and a troll hunter! lol

Deluded.

Before they addressed Paladin Blessings this was likely somewhat true, but even then it wouldn’t have been more than 55/60:45/40. With the addressing of Paladin abilities it’s going to reflect Classic launch. Overall it will be very close to 50:50.

Play the faction you enjoy, just be on a populated server that isn’t going to die off over the duration of the season.

Delusional as well. Horde will have access to Blessing of Salvation, it won’t be in the game at lvl 25 as Alliance don’t have access to it at that level either. This was the main reason SoM was heavy alliance. SoM was really a PvE season due to changes in raids and so horde representation was much lower than Classic launch.

Its going to be overwhelmingly alliance because paladins were already better, people already prefer “pretty” races, and paladins got much stronger buffs.

i think you speak wisely. This is why I will end up following the crowd and roll yuck alliance… I hate the alliance (yes I know this is a gnome) but I was drunk one night and thought it would be funny to make a gnome named BenAffilock that looks like Ben Affleck lol and its on a hardcore realm which more people = better chance at survibility.

whats even funnier is my void walker pet is named J’lowzinsomething and my imp is Gardnersomething… i cant make this up its funny as heck

You maybe correct but the numbers on all the current discords disagree with you by a long shot. Also, paladins getting Horn of Lordaeron, Inspiration Exemplar, Blessing of Salvation and easily the best AoE tanking tool set is much more impactful than you seem to realize.

Another thing to point out, using language like:

Just makes you look pretentious and uninformed, especially with all current knowledge supporting a drastic imbalance in the Alliance favor. Perhaps just stick to giving your opinion in the future. Cheers!

It’s going to be hugely skewed toward alliance.

The only real knowledge we have is that people are running to Ally for the new FOTM Ret Paladins.

Horde are getting Paladin blessings and will also be getting the same Druid Windfury buff.

And the OP prot paladins.

Horde buffs, by way of totem, are vastly inferior to Paladin buffs in that paladins can buff prior to pulling and do not have to relocate totems. If the Horde get an equivalent threat reduction buff it still makes them inferior to Inspiration Exemplar (no maintenance buff), Horn of Lordaeron (no maintenance), and (perhaps the biggest) the massive AoE toolkit the protection paladin has.

The above are all the reasons listed on a myriad of Guild pages as to why they are choosing Alliance over Horde. In fact, I’ve not seen any Guild state they are going Alliance because of ret paladins (I understand this part is anecdotal).

Play horde. You’ll have more targets and better racials

Probably Alliance considering Paladins are shaping up to be the Hero Class of SoD.

It’s gotta be a 70:70 population this time around so everybody is happy. Thanks to Blizzard for the advance technology we get more than 100% population this time.

unless they add a netural faction like murlocs than it will be 15:80:5 (15% alliance 80% murlocs 5% horde).

Everyone wants to be a frog!

murlocs could be shaman and paladin riding a giant snail - crooooooaaaaaak

Outside of Way of the Earth, the paladin runes are so much more interesting. I’ve been very disappointed at the shaman runes simply being imports from later expansions, especially enh runes.

There is absolutely 0 chance horde outnumber alliance. The mere fact that these posts keep popping up is evidence that everyone ALREADY KNOWS alliance>horde performance gap has grown even over what it was in the no-changes version of vanilla. How slanted will it be? It depends partially on server counts which we dont know. My guess is we see 70:30 in the first month. Things have a tendency to spiral when world pvp has a heavy emphasis too, so expect it to get worse.
