So trying to level new main (not meta i hope) but curious what classes has insane self heals that can pull big packs of monsters and have easier time leveling to 60+ (No Tank builds or Monk)
Prot Pally, I’d say. Although I just leveled as Ret and with instant heals from the talent and Word of Glory, along with the defensives, it was super easy.
Blood DK. You don’t even need to overtly heal yourself. You heal yourself by attacking others.
Druid as far I can tell.
No tanks please
Havoc has some leech built in, then there’s souls that drop from slain stuff that you can walk on for a big heal.
Warriors with Impending Victory have a large heal on a relatively short CD that’s reset on kill.
DK is similar to Warrior in that Death Strike heals for a lot after you get a kill.
Havoc DH. It’s a good AOE spec that has leach healing and kills / attacks if you take a talent drop little purple orbs you just walk into to heal a huge potion of your hp.
They have a short evade CD that works well when pulling packs, great AOE damage, an AOE stun, another CD that helps you dodge and another aoe stun built into their main cooldown.
Havoc.
Outlaw and Hunters with a ferocity pet have a lot of passive self-healing, but theirs wouldn’t really help if you’re doing something like pulling a lot of mobs at once.
Havoc ma dood
Destro Warlocks come with great survivability. Healthstones, Unending Resolve, Dark Pact/Demon Skin, Mortal Coil/Howl of Terror, Summon Infernal AoE stun/DPS cooldown, random AoE infernal stuns from Rain of Chaos, another AoE stun from Shadowfury, easy to manage tank pet with its own defensive cooldowns, Drain Life, and Soulstone when all else fails.
Demo, too, with a hybrid tank/DPS pet, Axe Toss for single target stun/interrupt, Grimoire: Felguard for an extra single target stun/interrupt and DPS cooldown, on top of the aforementioned Shadowfury, Mortal Coil/Howl of Terror, Dark Pact/Demon Skin, Healthstones, Drain Life, and Soulstone.
Affliction offers less than the other two, but the base Warlock kit I think offers plenty enough if you just like to watch things wither unto death. You’d just have to manage your curses, or else they all start running and you’re meat.
You also can’t go wrong with any kind of Hunter. Their pet management is arguably even easier than Warlocks’, as their heal doesn’t need to be channeled and they can macro Misdirect to cast right onto their pet to give them snap aggro.
Fury also has alright self-healing with Victory Rush, Impending Victory, Furious Charge, and Enraged Regeneration when it hits the fan. Their only downside is you have to kill things to reset/proc Victory Rush/Impending Victory, Furious Charge requires spatial awareness so you don’t overpull and have to disengage or die, and Enraged Regeneration is on a cooldown.
Paladin should be a given with Word of Glory, Selfless Healer/Healing Hands, Divine Purpose procs, Lay on Hands, Divine Shield, Shield of Vengeance, Blessing of Protection, and plenty of group damage with Divine Storm, Wake of Ashes, Divine Toll (if you’re Kyrian/you talent into it when the Dragonflight talents hit live)/Ashen Hollow/Vanquisher’s Hammer. You can also pick up Eye for an Eye, which is basically just a repurposed Retaliation that Warriors used to have with an added damage reduction and much, much shorter cooldown.
Druid Feral, level 49 pasive " Predatory Swiftness" Your finishing moves have a 20% chance per combo point to make your next Regrowth or Entangling Roots instant, free, and castable in all forms. this means you can use Regrowth all the time and cast on you or allies! and normally Feral builds Crit% so it heals double.
Edit: i miss you can use the Guardian or Restoration Affinity talents for more healing(in bear form or cast in humanoid)
Would Outlaw Rogue be better ?
Tanks are going to be the best answer cause their entire toolkit is designed around having a lot of mobs hit you in the face and not dying because of it.
Other than that some good choices are:
Aff Locks
BM Hunters
Havoc DH’s
Havoc DHs is high APM class
Feral can also go Restoration affinity which heals us for 3% of our health every 5 seconds and comes with a few other healing spells.
As much as it pains me to say it since Feral is my main, it’s probably not what you are looking for if you want to pull a full map. It can be quite squishy while levelling.
I feel like Warrior might be one of your better choices. I have played Fury and it does pretty darn good at self sustain and can pull far more comfortably than feral while levelling. I’m unsure about Arms.
Rogues and druids I think.
Hunters, especially BM and kind of excluding MM have decent leech, but self-healing is only a piece of the survivability puzzle. Hunters are squishy.
Def looking @ rogues but idk lol
I find it a little bursty as an outlaw, but I rarely get into too much trouble out in the wilds. If my passives/Crimson Vial don’t keep me safe, it is down to the Vanish/start again thing.
How much mobs can you take on at least ?
I think the most important question is what kind of content are you looking to do
Also what kind of spec you like to play. Melee, ranged caster, ranged with instant casts/passive damage (less penalized by movement)? High mobility, or don’t care?
