I obviously took this from Ar-Pharazôn. I have a mage named Nimloth, two rogues names Zimraphel, a warlock with Tar-Míriel compressed to Tarmiriel, and an orc named Boldog. Plus, I have a few with names based on quenya or sindarain words.
Tangentially, I also have a Walkerboh and Aphenglow from the Shannara books.
Rogues are supposed to be selfish so my name is a play on “Gimme!”

I’m not a “Zappy Boi” wannabe: when I created this character in Vanilla when I made 3-4 characters the first day I played and without knowing anything about the classes because I only glanced at the description, I just assumed mages could use lighting magic. So, I named this character after one of my Diablo 2 sorceresses.

My DK? For some reason I had a flintstones mood when I made him. Except Bambam was already taken. So I added an extra bam.
My shaman (my oldest surviving toon) was a player on the numbers of my age when I made the toon. I didn’t realize for years most people read it as Verde. Ie Spanish for Green.
The rest were based on words that fit the theme of the character. Only a couple were named I’ve used in the past that have personal meanings too long winded to explain.

Funny story.
I got renamed after transferring servers and had the opportunity to start anew. After many,any hours researching old norse mythology and folflore, I learned that “Sylv” or “Sylven” or “Sylvan” had vaguely something to do with forests, woods, trees, something like that. “Hel” was a great prefix to tie it all together. Examples like Helheim, Helya, etc.
Lots of elven and norse immagry there.
I spent so much time thinking of this name and now I only just come to realize it sounds like Sylvanas. I swear that was just a coincidence.
That is a thing that happens to some people for sure but it is a cool name and I like a lot because it is cool too

Bretherezen is just ‘Bethrezen’ with an extra ‘r’ and ‘e’ in it.
Bethrezen is the Demon Lord from the Disciplies RTS franchise. I’ve been using this name for over 16 years.
