TKO is an old DotA tournament format, so players would put TKO in their names cross games because of that. I suspect a lot of people do it these days because of MMA.
FX was a team/guild/small community in WoW 5v5. The five FX. The only one I remember is Athlete but they got Rank 1 in 5s every season for like 3 expansions straight. They would put fx in their names and people copied it for some reason. I haven’t seen anyone with fx in a while.
qt and lol are pretty much only used when your main name is taken. I have (had) toons named avenglol and avengqt
