What does a Sylvanas victory look like?

Emotionally stable is questionable. Nathanos is still a sadistic @$$ that hasn’t actually shown any change in emotion, and the most that he has was at Teldrassil and in the short story. Any change would likely be moderate at best and not nearly enough to persuade them from falling in with another good ole genocide.

No matter how you slice it, de-edging the Forsaken would be the only way to make such a thing even worth entertaining as an idea. And since edge is most of (if not the only) aspect they have, you’d literally be writing them out of the story.

I’ve said this before, but before BfA, Sylvanas’ intentions were honorable, even if many of her actions were not. Until Wrath, her motivation was to get revenge on Arthas while securing a place for her people to live in. After Wrath, she had a singular focus on trying to find a way where the Forsaken could be repopulated. It’s just that her actions are oftentimes underhanded and sometimes even outright evil.

So if Sylvanas did not go full on supervillain (which might happen after all), if she has any sort of altruistic motivations, then I would think her focus is on the survival of the Horde. And she saw first hand how a common enemy like Garrosh could bring Horde and Alliance together. So unlike Garrosh, Sylvanas is doing everything she can to antagonize EVERYBODY in the Horde and Alliance.

And if so, that explains her actions against Saurfang and Baine - they would be a surefire way to bring in Thrall. And by bringing in Thrall, she has a figurehead in which a long lasting peace between Horde and Alliance could be possible when Sylvanas and Nathanos is defeated and brought to justice. And her actions would be blatant enough so that the Horde can’t close ranks like they did for Garrosh and treat it as an internal problem but have to come to some sort of arrangement to dispose of her.

And the burning of Teldrassil not only works for that, but also as a twisted gift to Thrall - the night elves would be too busy rebuilding, so Orgrimmar would be more or less left alone from night elven harassment - possibly the only party in the Horde-Alliance conflict that may object to peace due to where Orgrimmar is located neutralized.

But then again, as I said above, Sylvanas could just be a cartoon villain.

were all dead

Honestly if hey give Sylvanas any kind of victory it not only is a kick in the teeth to the entire Alliance playerbase who have had their hands tied behind their back for the entire war because of Anduin, especially as we have been begging to actually be allowed to do some actual damage to the Horde.

Not to mention it also Hurts the honor Horde side as they are basically being told they made the wrong choice.

Besides any Victory by Sylvanas means everyone is raised as her undead. That is her end goal, an army that serves and obeys her like a goddess.

Perhaps before Cata yes. She was hell bent on revenge and people can do some very messed up stuff when blinded by it. That said, the difference is that a good revenge fixated character comes out when the object of their hatred dies and realizes all the bad was not at all worth it, whereas a bad one… doesn’t.

Besides, in Sylvanas’ head she has to be the absolute being on Azeroth. If she could sacrifice the Forsaken for another life of prime Val’kyr she would be the queen of nothing and damn happy about it. There is ZERO chance she would do this for their sake. And if she does, it is a poor, poor attempt on Blizzard’s part to “”“redeem”"" her. Par for the course with Blizzard these days.

Truth is, killing her off for good solves more than it breaks. Can guarantee if she gets a Grommash ending that 99% of the Nelf fanbase would quit for good, and most likely taking a good bit of the Alliance playerbase too.

A Sylvanas victory looks like Anduin being forced to kneel to her and surrender in exchange for the people of Stormwind having their lives spared. The shattered mask hangs over the hearths of the Alliance, Anduin’s throne runs red with the blood of the members of his own faction who he betrayed to broker peace, and his last lie ‘there will be peace’ is told.

It probably also looks like the Alliance getting a similar ‘rebel’ faction to aid, probably made up of the other racial leaders, and then the Horde and Alliance rebels working together to undermine Sylvanas and Anduin in the next expansion.

But since the warcampaign is supposedly ending next patch, I don’t think that’s anything anyone needs to worry about.
