With the game as old as it is and how I’ve played it most of my life, that is the only correct answer

War, burning stuff, undeads, demons, trolls and orcs.
Also looting and killing stuff with 20+ people around.

It’s the only MMORPG in existence next to LOTRO that has an authentic medieval world even if there are expansions that set the theme in space or back in time or in the aether/afterlife, WoW still brings that stylized medieval aesthetic to it all.

LOTRO is a hardcore true medieval fantasy experience but hasn’t aged well due to the style they chose and sadly the engine they got stuck with and couldn’t build on it.

Back to what I like about WoW is that core basic feel of the stylized graphics and the combat flow, loot drops, exploration. Achievement hunting after TBC when I think it was added created a good feeling when you obtain almost all the achievements even if most are FOMO.

I always wanna log on even on retail to just either do old content on a max char or finish tons of quests as fast as I can. I’d love more need to mob grind like in obsidian citadel but on a old core basic like how classic WoW was… For BoE’s or just gold/mats in general. Bots kinda ruin it on retail though on a huge scale.

Another thing I liked back in MoP and through WoD was how useful I could be with a class/spec which kinda ended after BFA. I’m on a bit of classic era atm and feels great to roll a mage and have people ask me for food or ports or rarely I get asked into a party for pure AOE grinding with someone.

Typing all this just makes me want to log into retail to attempt to do something but I’ll be left with a bad gut feeling and log off knowing M+ community of toxic trolls exist and the “dont like it? Don’t do it” people out there these days xD

Well it used to be a good place to pull off pranks like the toy train set or the cry bomb in the auction house.

Heck even the training dummy on the soup feast was funny

Now I just settle to port gullible ppl to ancient Dalaran

One thing that makes me sad with ffxiv is how slow the combat is.

Feels so slow enough that I am waiting around for awhile but still short enough that I am left anxious during that delay trying to do the next thing.
