What do you guys think about lowbie ganking?

Red is dead. Don’t roll the pvp server unless you can handle engaging the pvp at any level, at any time, and against any odds.

Swolebenji,

Do what makes you happy. You paid for it. Don’t grief people. Well in bounds in my opinion.

Nothing makes leveling less boring than a red 60 showing up. (Camping would be pretty lame.)

And this is why PvP servers evenually died off or became so imbalanced that they were effectively PvE servers.

Not that having “fun” with lower level players isn’t cool. Back in Vanilla, on a PvP server, I was running my NE Hunter from Darkshore to Ashenvale. A level 60 Rogue sapped me, killed my pet, gave me a hug, and left. It was hilarious.

But ganking and camping low levels on a maxed out toon? Sounds kind of sad to me.

It’s a tool that should be saved to show your displeasure to the devs IMO. Granted some people really do love this kinda crap so have fun

But as a general rule, if you have a large % of your max level players just start culling lowbies the server will feel it. And you will get people to log out.

I used to play with a german guy who was very very level headed. But when he would get mad at the administratino of hte P servers he would go to lowbie zones and just start culling everything he could find

Mumbling about how the server needed to die

Those are the only lowbie culling rampages with true moral force

Everything else is fun in short bursts but quickly loses its fun

I think… if you gank lowbies you are probably very sad irl and I hope things get better.

That’s how sociopaths view the world.

And are you very sad irl if you like to drive fast and crash the car in Forza?

Are you very sad in real life if you like to “see what happens” in any video game?

These are simulators. They provide a window to another reality.

Leave irl out of it for your own mental health.

You are showing everyone that you can not differentiate.

I would really only enjoy ganking if it was people near my level nowadays, maybe going somewhere on a twink and 1v3ing people until they finally learn how to use crowd control and I die.

Now back in WOTLK…I was a salty mf because I got ganked a lot while leveling on my PvP server. So naturally, once I got geared I actually camped redridge for an hour or two a day for like 3 months on my rogue. I would kill the flight master, hide, and one shot people for hours. Pure revenge, they would send half the server after me.

It’s petty and childish to do, but whatever. Most people on the internet are petty and childish. This is the main reason I avoided pvp realms.

You get up from your chair, stretch, catch up on current events, step outside, breathe some fresh air, and take a walk around the block for some exercise. Then you find another game to play while awaiting the next update. You don’t have to devote your life to WoW Classic.

It’s just a video game, I don’t agree with it mirroring real life. I actually think that the way you lowbie gank and camp on Skeram in an effort to try to rid the server of the alliance completely makes more sense. It’s role-playing really. Even though it’s not my thing personally. This is way better than that disgusting doxxing thing that happened. This is just playing the game. The server is already screwed so it doesn’t matter anymore if all allies are gone.

I’m not on board in equating ganking to such behaviors. I just know ganking is why I won’t have fun on PvP Servers (RP-PvP included).

It’s funny because I got dox’d for camping a hordes alliance alt but since I live in a van they couldn’t do anything with that information. Can’t send a swat team without knowing the van location or what it looks like.

You get the views you were aiming for?

Your stream doctor strategy is outdated a bit, and you’ll need something key moving forward: actual content that people seek, rather than react to.

I think it sucks, and I think low of players who do it. I do it sometimes myself, but I still think low of myself. There is no positivity in this exchange in any way for me. But then the game allows it, so technically it’s okay. But then again, the game allows master looter to ninja all drops, so ability to do it doesn’t automatically redeem the people who do it.

It’s a sort of a thing that allows people being obnoxious (to avoid using a stronger term), and it’s their right, and it’s a PvP server, but that doesn’t make them less obnoxious.

Ultimately everyone plays PvP servers for that big roulette if the next opposite faction person they meet is going to be “that” person or not. And for the ability to be that person once in a while. So I guess what I want to say is that lowbie ganking is bad, but it’s the whole point of lowbie ganking.

Just LOL at your attempt to plug your YouTube channel.

Let’s get this spinach. :leaves:

Incorrect. That is the only time Blizz will interfere in a loot dispute.

I think lowbie ganking is a huge waste of time. I mean, what do I get from doing it? No honor, no loot, no sense of satisfaction from killing a worthy enemy. At best, I might get an angry whisper from a low level alt if the guy happens to have two accounts. 99% of the time they just die and that’s it. It’s not even worth dismounting to kill a lowbie unless he’s about to pick an herb or mine a node that I want. I leveled this rogue on a pvp server, and honestly the thing I miss the least about that server is the lowbie ganking. It’s 100% just people who are frustrated with the lack of control in their own lives trying to impose their will on others who can’t fight back. You can dress it up as “I do it for funsies!” all you like, but no one is buying it.

Now, botters on the other hand. Kill them as many times as it takes to make them log off.

You’ll find Horde and Alliance do the same. Come roll on Heartseeker as Horde as test our your blinded tribalism there.
