What do you do for a living?

See, I cheat, I put the random stuff into the reshops and let our front end clerk’s deal with it.

My condolences, you are my hero. My dad retired from Attica after 39 years last year, and after what I’ve heard, I can understand.

I found a package of scallops outdated by seven years once on top of one of the freezers. What boggles my mind is that, yes, the customers can’t see it due to the running boards up top, but we regularly climb up there on ladders because the hot water spigots and the hoses we use to de-ice the freezers are up there!

So that’s what accounting really is in a nutshell, whenever someone told me they are an ‘accountant’ I never fully understood what it meant.

You be surprised how many people really don’t understand how to budget their gains and spending, many tend to spend it as it comes without thinking of what they need to spend in the future to sustain their income or business. Something as simple as a Profit and Loss budget showing how much they make, how much they spend month to month, and year to year comparisons can open someone’s eyes to how much money they are really wasting and what they can do about it.

Yeah fair enough, save more than you spend, always.

I’m the assistant grocery manager at a local supermarket. Was previously the Bulk Foods Manager and before that the Health & Natural manager. Not glamorous, often crappy, but as my old store manager used to say, "It doesn’t matter where you go in the world, everybody needs to eat, so you will always have a job."

My dad is a rich hotel mogul, and I was going to take over but some jerk tried to essentially steal the business. Luckily I have some close friends and good people in the business that were able to back me up while I went through each grade in school to prove to my dad that I’m not a fool. Anyway, I got set up and kicked out. All wasn’t lost though, I challenged this company stealing jerk to an academic decathlon and won! Well, I was going to win until he pulled a gun on me. I made amends with a kid I used to bully in high school though who crazily enough shot the gun wielding jerk in the butt and saved my girlfriend. End up giving the company to a good loyal employee of my dad’s and decided to be a teacher. Congrats on the company Carl! Much respect!

Nothing quite that glamorous.

I did a lot of that before getting my current gig. Major kudos to you, it’s a rough problem to deal with and a tragic population.
