Meatball and Hogger have the exact same model on live, so I assume they’ll both use this model and Wowhead’s just being dumb.

Did they just add some clothes to him? He still looks like an adorable little puppy.
Still looks like a Disney Villain but better than the first remodel. The first one he looks like a Disney villain who will have a change of heart at the end and sacrifice himself willingly after realizing his wrongs. The second one he looks like a Disney villain who will not change his ways and just die for what he believes. Both trash Disney looking villains but at least the latter is respectable. OG hogger still superior.

Honestly, I think it was less a case of them listening and more of a case of the exact thing that I said would happen (in another topic) happening:
The model was updated to bring Hogger more in line with his HotS appearance.
Keep in mind that the original model was NOT unique to Hogger, therefore an update to gnoll models across the board would affect Hogger. When we had the small string of complaint topics once the change first went live, I flat out said that they’d likely be giving him a more unique model later on as Hogger is an iconic early game character that has reached meme status.
While HotS was clearly NOT a canonical appearance for him, it was a vast improvement over the terrible generic gnoll model from nearly 20 years ago, and the moment I saw a rework on gnolls was coming, I just had a feeling the more iconic gnolls such as Hogger and Meatball would get unique models with Hogger in particular likely borrowing heavily from that HotS design.

The entire game needs to be in HoTS quality. The cloth physics in that game are just superb.
Hogger really deserves to be a minor raidboss (open world or an instanced attack on Goldshire). Ten level twenty toons having a proper laugh.

This second attempt looks amazing in my opinion. That face is maniacal and the stance looks menacing and ready to strike. Whoever is responsible for this should be proud and deserves a raise.

I still don’t get the “this looks like a disney villain” thing. People make it sound like thats a bad thing when the villains tend to be way more loved than the heroes. Even the “love to hate” type.

Because he doesn’t look vicious. Original Hogger is a vicious looking monster, like Violator from Spawn
He’s not cute at all, he’s a true monster.
Remodel V1 looks like the Gaston of villains 
I picture him waking up in the morning and styling his spikes with gel 
Remodel V2 reminds me of Scar
He looks good, as far as a lion or gnoll can look good , but he also looks like a savage and not a comedic relief villain.
