Drustvar was good, essences once you had unlocked them gave interesting character building choices. Iris, anima of death and visions of perfection felt good. Unlocking them was a pain, don’t like azerite gear and benthics requiring a 50-60 level neck to use when you’re quick to use when stuck with level 1
Lady Nazjatar was neat and organic. Ashvane was decently unlikable as greed and selfishness are pretty common traits for flat people that would burn their mother down for 12$ and eat a child maybe with bbq sauce. But hey at least Nazjatar saved us by turning her into a fish, so that cancels out.
One thing i noticed in Bfa were that there weren’t very many lore relevant male characters who didn’t end up playing Tien Shenhan to Goku Sues. Or blow up like Saurfang, Yamchas and Krillins to Sylvanas death Ray.
Like it’s subtle but it’s a reoccuring note that if a female villain encounters a male npc. They will either lose, blood sacrifice the male to a all female blood troll tribe, be the best shipwright with a useless husband who doesn’t have magical ship building powers, Or be able to solo entire fleets.
Like aside from nzoth, (who, just qualifies as a it), name one major lore victory in bfa where a male character, didn’t win in combat against a female, unless they weren’t also not acting under subservient orders to a more powerful or corrupt female. Ashvane, Sylvannas, Jaina, Malfurion, Bolvar, etc.
Take your choice. It’s already become really predictable that in bfa if a fight between female npc and male npc occurs, the female will always win unless they fight another female. Like even Tyrande vs Sylvannas.
When did Flynn or Magni even do anything? That even if impressive on its own, compared Tien to Goku levels in the writing of drama of the story. Like imagine the cell saga where Tien risks his life, out matched to fight cell even though he’ll know he doesn’t stand a chance, but all he can do is tri beam him to the crater of the earth.
Then female goku appears and solos 40 cells by using a magic princess wand. Followed by Female Goku fighting female vegeta vs female freeza and female buu wondering why they’re even in the story anymore.
Everyone male who could have been important died as sue fodder. Bolvar was wasted, saurfang is dead.
Genn while cool never even gets a chance to invade. Anduin literally has him set up a assault off map and he goes “I’ve waited 20 years since my son died for this, It’s a bit late, but i know Anduin would never fail me!.. Oh he forgot to ever place the signal… And saurfang got twilight devastationed??.. Oh That’s fine I guess. I’ll go sit in the never allowed to get revenge corner…”
It’s at the point where if asked if in bfa if a cinematic appeared where the god of death appeared, the lich king and the next cinematic was a five year old orc girl licking a lollipop. I’d already start bringing out the coffin knowing he probably still dies at the end 70-30% of the time. .
