I don’t see how pvp ranks could be it. I am made leader so often that it is actually pretty weird, and I never got any pvp ranking. I would genuinely like to know how the leader is chosen though, because it certainly doesn’t seem random when I can be chosen leader 4 out of 6 bgs on some days.

That isn’t what choses it either. I know because, like I already mentioned, it happens to me so often that I really started trying to figure out what was causing it, and I have been one of the last to enter the bg and still be made leader.

Maybe because you have a high amount of pvp done ? im not sure what it is.

Isn’t it by whoever joins in first? I’ve been the first one to enter and load in at times and I’m instantly given lead.

Guildie who did her first battlegrounds yesterday thinks it is by winning streak. Over the course of 15 solo queued normal battlegrounds, she started out with a long losing streak since she’d never healed battlegrounds before, but after she got a few wins in the middle, she started getting lead, and kept getting lead for the rest of the battles, all of which were wins. She ended up 8-7 and also went from level 96 to level 99, although she did some PVE while waiting for queues.

i think its who joins first as well, but it can seem confusing if lots of players get in at about the same time and there is some latency

I didn’t think the actual group lead mattered. “The Leader” is whoever takes charge and starts calling stuff out.

Maybe off topic, but I think BG leaders either need the Ashran addon shouts or whatever the leads had that would send giant bold messages to everyone in what location to hold, attack, abandon, rescue.

I understand that part of the problem is that Ashran was like old AV, and the game continued until one side abandoned. This allows for more dedicated leaders.

I don’t see why we cannot have a similar principle in BGs where the game goes forever. Or at least have the option of joining BGs that are continuous. Weekly Brawls have a unique spin, why not a never ending BG?

Being my own critic, I wonder about implementing AI to counter out imbalances, factionless battles, mercenary battles, and overall avoiding farming honor by guilds.

Back to the point, though, BG leaders often are just random people who, in many cases, end up yelling obscenities when losing.

Why not a Battlefield 3/4 commander mode. You are dropping supplies, sending giant beacons out, etc etc stuff that gives you more of an RTS top down perspective and your participation is not abusive like it was in BF2.

Hmmm now im curious :thought_balloon: thinking

I always thought it was the first to join /shrug.
Now I have 0 ida what it is haha.

Can confirm it’s not first to join, I joined late and received lead yesterday.

Was looting when it came to join and didn’t hit join for a few secs.

Wonder if it’s hk related, lead I had was on a toon with 100k+ and the isle I was in had a lead with 500k+. (For 500k his spec was aweful and used a void walker).

Not sure, I have gotten lead before and I am only at around 220k account wide atm.

I think if there’s premades, it usually goes to leader of the biggest group. Other than that, don’t know.

Everyone can take lead. Normally, it happens when you are good calling enemy movements out, pin point weaknesses ( no defenses at nodes), asking folks to protect your heals who are being focused, calling out enemy healers etc. You have to be good in anticipate enemy behavior. Engage people at nodes, asking if they need help etc.

From what I observed its the ones with the highest honor levels.

I think it goes to the player that does that thing.
