Exactly. They no longer want to put in time or effort.
That is true, things didnât go well for them anyway.
Then there is that one game Cthulhu Death May Die.
A dead server is a server where there is 9 level 70s+ on at most and you are unable to do group content.
Anything else is not dead.
Most classic servers wind up going to one faction or just dying completely. Transferring to anything but a mega server is just a risk that youâll wind up having to transfer back off again, probably at your own expense. Iâve been on 4 servers since classic started, 2 no longer exist, the other was Sulfuras which is probably going to die in a couple of months. Once queues die down youâll likely see a lot of people from these smaller pop realms transfer back to mega servers.
For many here, if it has less than one hour queue it is a dead server. 1-2 hour queue it is somewhat populated but could die in a month, 3 hours queue it is a decent server could survive the 2 month test and 4+ hour queue it is good this is my home.
This is the copium people tell themselves when they sit in a 6 hour queue
If the transfers to âmega serversâ get reopened.
Which they may.
If they donât thoughâŚ
Herod had 8-10 hour queues⌠Where is it now?
And wasnât Benediction medium/high pop when it first came out?
Just remote in and queue, it hasnât really affected me much, though I know it sucks for other people.
But really, most of the servers Iâve been on have died. Iâm not transferring to something thatâs going to die in 3 months just to have to pay to transfer back. If they want to guarantee that we can xfer back if the server dies then sure, Iâm sure my guild would take that offer. But Without it? Nah, weâre good.
I was having fun on low pop Deviate Delight. When Blizzarf offered free transfers off⌠ok, it was time to go at that point.
What!s dead to some is generally very playable for others.
True, I hope they do. I still have friends waiting to play classic since they locked all of the servers I play on without warning.
6+ is their God-tier server. Been given the chance to be in a 6+ hour queue is an honor to them. Donât ever say to them to transfer to another server, is an insult and sacrilege to their God. They donât want to play anymore, they just want to give offerings and gifts to their God every day for 8 hours.
I just transferred off of sulfuras and I thought it was great. Had half my toons on sulfuras and the other have on benediction. Took the free transfers route to get all my toons on one realm on Earth Fury. EF feels a little dead, but I did not feel that way about sulfuras.
Apparently if you have anything less than a 10k queue then youâre on a dead realm.
Itâs entirely possible that Benediction/Grobb dies one day too. Herod was the largest server early on before TBC and look what happened to it. At this point Iâve learned to assume nothing.
Why did Herod die?
I doubt Grob dies. There is foundational strength from the RP-PvP community. They wouldnât abandon Grob for some run of the mill PvP swamp server.
I suppose because Faerlina existed
Otherwise not sure. 6k (at the start of TBC) was totally a healthy population, even if its all one faction (look at Pagle).
Foundational strength wasnât enough to stop DD from dying.
And yes they would. Ask the Europeans what happened to Zandalar Tribe.
