What class is best at soloing old raids?

just need a loot-a-rang and vendor bot to cap it off.

Ww monk

Tigers lust, 2 chi torpedo and the flying dragon kick.

Zoom zoom

Warlock in affliction spec.

You run around with burning rush and one shot all the trash with instant cast corruption which then restores the health lost from burning rush.

A constant 60% movement speed buff is great.

If youre in an aoe situation just round everything up, then detonate a seed. Not the best aoe out there but still highly effective.
Or if mobs are able to actually able to land a hit, your void walker will instantly aoe them all down.

And for more recent expansions, you have your own demon tank should you need one.

Their philosophy has changed, and old raids do not become soloable by everyone until they are two expansions behind current, that means after DF is done, BFA will be soloable by anyone when 11.0 comes out.

Stupid design philosophy, Its Blizz killing its own game yet again.

What spec would you recommend for druid players?

I would do Feral and swipe (whatever their AOE is called) every thing plus take the talent that makes you run faster.

This, really. Pretty much everything sub-BfA is easily soloable, things just die on impact and even if the bosses don’t, you will manage enough dps output with half-decent gear to avoid any potential issues. I’ve soloed all but Antorus on all my 60~70 classes (so Arcane Mage, Frost DK, Demolock, Boomie, Devoker).

If its just speed you want, then druid or shaman are probably best. I know when I’m farming through ICC for that invisible horse, my druid is my fastest clear, usually.

That said, it only shaves off maybe a couple minutes at best.

Druid, with some sort of speed set?

A tank, generally. Maybe a Druid for speed’s sake.

I would have said hunter, but there’s more nuance in terms of controlling your pet, and hunter pets are squishier these days, so you’ll be trading aggro and rezzing it a lot during longer fights.

You can even solo current content made for groups on a tank, like elite rares that would either be really difficult or outright impossible for many DPS players.

Some of the more recent raids are still difficult due to mechanics, but again, tanks generally can truck through it.

I feel that self-sustain on Tanks has gone critical, like tanks today are more independent than they’ve ever been due to self-healing.

There’s that meme moment recently where they ran M+ without a healer due to Paladin Tanks being a bit too self-sufficient.

Balance for the Sunfire (which is an AoE) and Flap.

Druids/Paladins are probably the best overall, in my opinion, as they have some range and healing abilities, which are useful in certain fights (like whatsherdragonface in ICC). Druid probably wins out just for speed thanks to their abilities + cat form.

My opinions by armor:

Plate: Paladin. Divine Steed is fast plus healing abilities to do that stupid dragon boss in ICC. The Green One not the Bone Zone one.

Mail: Evoker. Lots of utility and three ways to zip forward with deep breath and two charges of hover. They also have big AOE damage. Hunter is also a good pick for mobility though they lack any healing abilities.

Leather: Druid. Healing, Stealth, move speed buffs, and you can be a kitty.

Cloth: Mage. AOE spam, invis, slow fall, and the best class in the game imo.

These are my opinions and they’re 100% objective fact.

LOL hunters have healing abilities. One is a pet that will heal you. The other is a spell that you can lower the cooldown on. Plus, I’ve never needed healing in any raid from vanilla to Legion.

I think they are mostly concerned with the single boss in ICC where you have to heal the boss to win the fight - Valithria Dreamwalker.

I don’t know why. A single bandage from SL or DF will heal her to full. Or my pet will heal her to full.

Or you could, y’know, skip the boss…

Unless you really want something off her, then yeah. Bandage spec OP.

I would just add that warriors are great to use in old raids, because they can ‘learn’ nearly all weapons that drop from the bosses, if you’re after transmogs.

You don’t need clearcasting to evo on the move, just the talent slipstream

I’d argue Hunter in general. Ranged, is plenty mobile, plenty of AoE options, has a pet, has self healing, has utility in case it’s needed, doesn’t really have to worry about resources…pretty much anything you could need a Hunter has.

Oh. And it has access to most of the weapon types in the game if you’re wanting weapon transmogs.

I like arcane mage or I used to because of explosion if I was actually farming an instance including trash. You used to be able to constantly spam that without targeting. Haven’t done one in a while so maybe not the same now.

Barrage is still good though - miss bear tartare
