It seems unfair that I need to penalize my growth and gold because war mode is simply broken for warlocks. Every class stuns. Every class silences. Every class deletes. Warlocks are worthless as a class. We cannot ignore damage, can’t peel debuffs, Can’t move when ambushed, All classes have kicks and spell restrictions. Every class can ambush me in a field and I cannot get them past 50%. Pallies are a gigantic assclown class that can purge, clense and be invincible for 10 seconds WHILE still being able to beat my cakes. Warrors, DK, Rogue, Druids, MAGES and everything making my casting a joke and efforts moot.
Is removing war mode and just staying in pve carebear land my only option because I picked the wrong class? I will only read responses that are constructive. I always want to log off for 2 or 3 days after being “Flag of Ownership” by a guy who camped me, Stalked me and skyriding dismounting me to make a campfire on my body. Why do I even come back to this game? I clearly dislike this crap.
What spec are you playing ?
Affliction. I should have enough self healing but outside health stone and mortal coil, I have no immediate ways to heal. I can’t channel as they kick / interrupt the school. I think the matter is less about my spec and everything with gear and class specifics. I have 2 ways to CC but they can trinket out or single cooldown out of it. Howl of Terror must be paid and I don’t have that ability right now.
Look I am an old bad gamer. I just don’t understand why I cannot win a duel on the open fields against anyone. Warlocks have always been terrible just all other classes now are much more cake to play. Everyone can stun and silence and purge debuffs but not warlocks.
Out of all three lock spec Affliction is probably the worst one for 1v1.
Destro or Demo is the way to go but especially Demo. It is the tankiest Warlock spec with highest amount of CC’s. Give it a chance.
I play aff / destro and if you prep and actually focus on your strength isn’t gates etc. you can do quite well. (In worlds and fandoms and such)
Aff is actually not bad but I feel like Destro/Demo is easier. Warlock in wpvp needs clever play and some help. For one, I make sure my lock has engineering so that I have nitro boots and flexweave underlay (the 30s cd chute doesn’t share a cd with gliders).
Make sure you have all your consumables. Play with a succubus in wpvp. I always use steady flight and scout out where I’m going to land. I always always put down a port somewhere before I even engage a mob or fight because it helps to have that as an escape route.
All these things add up but it’s definitely a lot harder vs classes like rogues, demon hunters and ferals in wpvp.

Since warlocks are wheelchairs and have to stand still alot, I recommend running BfA Inscription for the Avatar of Sacrifice. He’ll leave a puddle of blood on the floor that will heal for percentage of your health if you stand in it. Really great survivability tool for you locks since you naturally have higher stamina/health.

Not really. You level up BfA inscription to 150, do a quest chain, and you unlock the recipe to craft the avatars.
Try out demo in WM. You’ll 1v1 almost anyone. Maybe not ret. Wall early and gate away from bubble!

If you’re really a sweat you can grab the candles as well for any wpvp fights. Between the avatar and the healing candle and warlock tankiness you’ll either kill then or make them disengage.
Also the leech tick from bfa and there’s the legion wq song flower.
Destro Lock in Dragonflight were monsters. The shield you had as a warlock made your class near immortal.
I do agree that in the moment, your class does feel weaker and easier to kill, and your burst did went away. But there’s also specs that shines in Wpvp: Druid, rets, rogues, mages, MM hunters.
As a Affliction Warlock, you’d want to make the strongest burst possible, then kinda hide away. Don’t fight in opens fields as you are an easy target. Let your dots do the work for you
I don’t like this game again. Honestly tired of my own fairweather on this title. I logged on, Did the ore quest to collect 10 and cannot beat anything. A warrior clowned me and HE was a bad warrior because he didn’t kick my fear.
I am going away for another year or something. This game is garbage for a solo player and everything is against you. I don’t like paying a sub to hate myself more. I already do. I play this. No thank you. I hate the choice, Turn off war mode or suck at this forever. Been bad at this game for so long I don’t deserve a good experience. Never get that mount and always be the punchline of jokes. Be me. Give up and play more Counter Strike.
I love valve for that reason. I get mad, I get money at least. This IP takes coin and patience and mind. Screw this whole game. I hate knowing I wasted a chunk of life on this garbage. I wish I spent it on anything else. ANYTHING.
I played AF warlock and I’ve beaten people at fair ilevel many times before. Its a lot easier if catch your opponent by surprise. You can burst fairly quickly and if you get your burst out fast, but the time they react their health is already mostly gone.
While I don’t want to assume you’re not, but run a 1v1 spec when you’re just in the open world and don’t be afraid to switch it up. I’ve caught a fair amount of folks off guard with a fear/coil (or vice versa) into a hell of an oblivion. It doesnt solve our main issue of just being sort of meh out there, but it helps even the odds a bit. We’ve always been a bit more of a support/backline class anyway, but especially aff.
