Can I buy any good pets with them and sell them on the AH?
Yes. Since you’re a Horde, see Giada Goldleash in Dalaran. As you land on the stairwell, enter the city proper, go right immediately, as if you’re going to the Horde area, and enter the first shop on your right. You’ll see a Gnome Mage with a pet, Manapoof. And behind the counter is a dwarf named Draemus, who also sells pets for Shiny Pet Charms. You’ll find Giada Goldleash in that shop. If you’re collecting Shiny pet charms on an Alliance toon, you’d be seeing Tiffany Trapspring, who is also in that shop.
Draemus, although a Dwarf, is faction neutral. He will sell to you regardless of whether you’re Horde or Alliance.
Every pet you purchase with Shiny Pet Charms is cageable and can be sold in the AH.
Careful… there is one pet that you cannot cage, so don’t buy that one. Off the top of my head I can’t remember what it is.
Be patient while selling. I’m currently trying to sell some wands and pets (I had 3k charms left over from last xpac cry) and it is hard. I think a lot of people were in the same situation. The pets currently sell for in the 5k range. If I could go back in time, of course I would buy a bunch of ultimate training stones and rare stones, but that’s life… I won’t let that happen again.
It’s the Nightwatch Swooper that isn’t cageable.
Much has been discussed as to the “upgrade” to Polished Pet Charms and how much/little warning was given. I just find it frustrating as the pet battles (and weekly quest) in Dreanor still reward Shiny Pet Charms while the Garrison’s Pet Managery NPC only accepts Polished Pet Charms. Update either the currency rewarded or allow for Shiny Pet Charms to be used at the Garrison’s vendor, please. One way or the other, really.
Yes, I agree. It was a pretty dirty trick to implement the Polished Pet Charms before we had any means to acquire them. While we knew the change was coming, we didn’t think it was coming as soon as it did.
That is also an excellent point. The quests in Draenor reward Shiny, but the vendors only accept Polished.
Personally, I think the Draenor quests should reward Polished. It’s not like you’re getting a ton of them. You spend forty minutes doing all the tamers and you get what? Twelve?
Indeed, I would accept the whole system be converted to Polished Charms. However, I do see a path where both currencies can be leveraged in the two zones. Either way, it’s odd to have a way to farm legacy currencies where the vendors in the same area only take the updated currency. There’s definately room to streamline this.
