Just unsub and take a break. People regret closing their accounts when a few years pass.
What a block of text. None of that is about getting banned. I thought we’d be discussing strategies. My bad, I fell for the bait.
Start of a new season and everyone is gearing again…so im on break for a few weeks

Something tells me you have quite the experience with it.
Me? I’ll quit from time to time but I never nuke my accounts in any game.

If you are not just temporarily enraged because of the pvp issue and truly feel like you have a behavioral addiction to the game and cannot quit playing, getting banned to have the game inaccessible to you may mitigate your access to the this particular object of addiction, yet won’t alone solve the underlying issues keeping you reaching for the game to provide the dopamine fix, the feedback rewards, or the focused distraction from whatever else is keeping you coming back.
Kicking the habit will require hard work at dealing with the underlying reasons you engage in the compulsive behavior. Maybe you can do that alone or maybe it will require help of some kind: family, friends, and/or professional therapy. It’s not easy if you are truly addicted. What can be easy to let happen, especially if you don’t actually fully deal with the underlying behavioral issues, trauma, need for reward despite the consequences, etc. that has turned you to this compulsion of needing the game, is that you can really easily end up trading out the game addiction for a cross-addiction to something else. WoW is that for me: a surrogate for my alcoholism and substance abuse that I have managed to keep sober from for many years. I have been in therapy for substance misuse and counseling and therapy to attempt to deal with the underlying causes. Still, >17 years since quitting drinking and abusing pain medication, I’m still using this game to somewhat fulfill that compulsive addiction loop. Oh, I’m able to quit the game: I did after the original Catacylsm launched, but all I did was immediately turn to STO, then Rift when it launched, then back to WoW chasing that need. Addiction transfer is an easy trap to fall into, so if anyone is trying to overcome and quit one addiction, try to be vigilant that you are not subconsciously trading that addiction for another.
Again, I don’t know if the op is dealing with an actual behavioral addiction or if it’s just temporary rage, but either way, I hope they can find a way to deal with the issue. This is game, something that is supposed to be fun, but sadly does instead at times creates negativity and anxiety/stress of various sorts.
