What bots/hacks are allowed?

So blizzard has not directly addressed which bots / hacks are allowed yet.

Clearly they are not being enforced in any noticeable manner, so a response from the CM would be helpful to put all the legitimate players back on even ground and point to which teleport and fly hacking are viewed as OK.

The economy varies from Server to Server (and Faction to Faction). For example, a single Black Lotus on Bloodsail (Alliance) goes for about 60g. Meanwhile, over on Pagle (and I just checked), it’s worth about 90g (Alliance).

That is true but items they were botting went do 1/3rd of what they were on Pagle at least.

Why isn’t multiboxing with software that moves multiple characters with one button? If you are a 5-man multiboxer then you are botting 4 toons while actually playing one.

Id say it has to due with the act of actually playing the characters. Botting you just run a program and it does everything, multiboxing you have to hit the right buttons even if they do go to the other characters.

Anyone else find it strange pr*vate servers had better anti cheat prevention and detection?

Not really. A lot of these people actually cared about the game, unlike Blizzard

At the moment any hack you run on a virtual machine because they’re not actively spending resource to combat the issue.

Why would it be strange that Blizzard, who profits from letting cheaters cheat, would be less strict than people who didn’t profit from it, like those running private servers?

According to “community flaggers” it’s trolling to point out that Blizzard has an express incentive not to ban bots as soon as they’re discovered?

Feels weird man. Guess it’s time to post this again.

Btw these bots were banned on July 1, the day after the 2nd financial quarter ended. But I guess it would be “trolling” to infer that that wasn’t just a giant coincidence.

Looks like money signs to Blizzard Activision.

Wow, I’m fine with an actual person that multi-boxes, but this is beyond that. You can tell it’s all bots. When I duo box and someone pulls that kind of stuff on me I say something to them. I leave the zone etc.

People screaming about boosting and other things that players do, but the real issue is the botting and hacking. Want to level multiple characters at once? Fine. Need an automated bot program to do it while you sit watching videos or something else? Go screw something else up.

Botting and hacking does more to hurt the game than anyone boosting, running multiple accounts, etc could ever do. Botting and hacking destroy the integrity of the game. I’m not to going to speculate on the last bit, but I’d lean towards agreeing with you on it.

Well flyhacks are certainly allowed that’s for sure.

Blizzard probably provides them with software and they pay a higher monthly sub to bypass warden.

I dunno what to do. My guild has around 150 people and alot like to do different things, most are ready to quit over the bots and teleporting cheaters. Raiding is fun but whenever you go to a zone with lotus or try to do quests to level in, you see so many demoralizing things. It’s like they want you to buy boosts since there are so many bots who are camping quest spots and you cant level that way.

There is no money to be made off of selling gold on a private server.
