I agree.
Any “new age” of MMOs is gonna have to be met with some technological advancement. Not just remaking the same game.
I dont want the hoyoverse crowd.
You may want loot boxes and underage girls. And thats on you. But I dont.

I would agree that most MMOs these days have screwed up priorities.
This is gonna sound odd but hear me out: MMOs need to learn from Helldivers 2.
The specific advantage that MMOs have is the social media element. As much as I appreciate the drive to make the gameplay as good as possible, MMOs can never be as good as like a single player game. The servers can’t handle it, the framework can’t handle it.
What they need to do is focus on what they want player social interactions to be.
In Helldivers 2, every single gameplay element is designed around interactivity between players. It’s not simply a good game you can play with your friends, it’s designed top to bottom around player social interactions.
No thank you.
I feel like an engine upgrade after The Last Titan is more likely.
Retail as it stands caters towards a large different number of demographics.
If they do a sequel it’ll likely be more targetted.
And a bit going earlier on what I said, Ulduar in wotlk classic in China had more logs than all of DF. They love classic over there.
For as long as our money is keeping their lights on.
But seriously, I’d love to see another game set in this universe with more updated visuals and gameplay. If they made it, and if it looked good, I would play it.
An epic single player RPG in the way of Elder Scrolls or Last of Us, for example, might hit a strong chord. The War of the Ancients could be a setting that would have draw for longtime Warcraft franchise fans.
There are a lot of possibilities for it.
We’re already on WoW 11.
I want the world updated, but not a new game.
I doubt that Blizzard will make another MMO.
Maybe a single player game with a decent open world that would be closest to a WoW type enviroment.
World of Warcraft is popular in a huge part for the graphic design, I doubt that we’ll forever see a real WoW2 with modern realistic graphics and I’d hate it personally
I do believe that someone with enough expertise doing the entire world of Azeroth to begin with in Unreal Engine 5 could potentially make us a separated exploration version of wow with realistic graphics.
I had my first moment of " Damn imagine if that was with realistic graphics " a few days ago in Dun Morog playing Hardcore Classic, and so I do hope somebody does it
This, I don’t understand people who try to say the graphics are bad. It’s seriously my favorite in terms of the overall art style, animations, and VFX.
WoW 2 would be a good way to make me permanently done with World of Warcraft as a title. I would prefer to just see older zones, gear models, and etc updated to be at the level of current content. And I especially dream of the day where content stays relevant even outside of it’s expansions lifespan.
Be like Elsa.
Let it go.
wow 2 came out in 2007
Yeah realistic graphics just doesn’t work for Warcraft. This is a big reason why I hate their hyper cinematic cutscenes, their average cutscenes just look a lot better.
I imagine if they ever made a sequel it’d look like something between the in game cutscenes and overwatch.
Trust the geniuses who brought us Overwatch 2 to do a sequel-continuation right THIS TIME despite the insane added scope of remaking an entire game world.
yeah, no.
I am hoping for another Warcraft RTS because Warcraft 3 was so good.
Fat chance of that ever happening lol.
Last time they “updated” the world, they basically destroyed it and left a ruin of pop culture references and no actual story in its wake. And why would they even spend the effort when leveling is completely trivialized?
Housing is not something they would be adding to the game right now if there was any sort of reboot anywhere on the horizon.
Any and all speculation about a WoW 2 is a dead horse to me now.
Yes, getting active content every few months with new expansions planned for the next SIX YEARS is “maintenance mode”
Ard, if you hate this game so much, you do know, no one’s forcing you to keep playing it right?
