What are you listening to now? V5 (Part 1)

Every so often I get in this mood:

Rare… but when I do, I always sit stunned at how intricate this music can be. This morning just felt like one of those times.

His virtuosity and how he captures such character with it - not just showboating, but using it to attain to a higher degree of expression - is majestic.

While younger than Chopin, I find myself coming back to this when I want to be pensive. Ralph Vaughan Williams is one of those composers that feels very accessible, but with just enough mystique and technique that transcends movie scores.

Man, I remember listening to this as if it was yesterday. Time is amazing. 2001 there.

And then this. This album is one of my favorites. Max has great, penetrating lyrics and the band has an amazing energy.

This entire 42 minute composition has multiple “movements.” This is one of my favorites but if you dig this, I would listen to the rest of the piece
