Love her work. This album was one of my favorites overall. Like a less spacey Bjork.

Hounds of Love was pretty good, but The Sensual World is still my favorite album of hers.

I’ve posted this before but not here and not at this particular timestamp where I can’t get enough of this killer melody that starts around 26:53. Looping it for days! Some hidden gems on this album for people that like melody and just appreciate straight up, top tier musicianship…

Genesis, in their Trick of the Tail album following Peter’s departure.

This album is ear candy to me.

And some more bite-sized edgey fusion

Been a while since I listened to that Genesis album, thanks for the reminder. Great melodies…

Ripples. Another great one. Honestly, every song on that album is finely crafted and the mixing/engineering is on point. It feels elevated and very crisp.

Steve Hackett, I feel, is an underrated guitarist. I think he was one of the first to use the EBow. I feel Pendragon’s Nick Barrett was heavily inspired by him. Steve would leave Genesis after the Wuthering Heights album (another solid one), which was the album directly after Trick; the next album was accurately titled And Then There was Three… (Collins, Banks, Rutherford). This Blood on the Rooftops is one of Steve’s best pieces in all of Genesis, I think. Still showcasing that famous Genesis pastoral, ‘canterbury’ vibe - and Tony Banks ethereal chords on the mellotron.

This was also the album where you could start to hear Phil coming into his own and this track solidified his future “adult contemporary” works.

And Ohm. That’s “Pag” on bass! Robertino Pagliari. Man, so glad to see he’s still rocking it. He always seemed to prefer fretless, too. Like a modern Jaco.

This is my favorite cars song. Second is Moving in Stereo, no, not because of Phoebe Cates. I swears on the precious!

Don’t think I’ve posted this here, but this is a solid cut from Talking Head’s David Byrne and Brian Eno (who also worked with Genesis on Lamb)

'cuz everyone can use some Bruce Springsteen covered by Manfred Mann!

…and because this is one of the earliest “swung 16” songs I know, and it just has that Bread, Seals and Crofts, easy vibe

Roland and Curt still sound great here.

And this is for Tureja and his Kate Bush clips. Jorn Lande takes David Coverdale and Dio and adds Scandinavian perfection.

I’m a little surprised I couldn’t find a video of Kay performing this live, it was pretty popular back in the 50’s. But I suppose a lot of stuff from back then didn’t get preserved.

One of my faves, though I pretty much dig Lou Reed across the board:

And a bit stonier vibe, though just about all VU is pretty stoney:

I feel like I posted ‘Vicious’ recently-ish. Eh, no matter, it’s good on repeat listenings.
