What Are You Doing Blizzard? Phase 8 Sod Raid Bosses Are Retail Style Fights

Sendryn has everyone beat.

Oh here we go, SODS back on the lifeline :joy:

This guy and his “Karen”

this is not the W post you think it is, kinda sus. i’d think about deleting this

How much of the troubles people are seeing are because of the massive nerfs to some of the DPS classes? Maybe the nerfs were a last minute idea and the tuning for the raid was done prior to the nerfs being factored in? that 25-30% damage reduction some classes got smacked with is even going to affect their ability to clear Naxx as efficiently. Just a thought.

Yes, the scenario you described with 3 weeks of progression will be possible because that’s about how much time it’ll take to tune the raid to being viable content for most 20-man guilds.

That’s not it at all. The nerfs don’t account for how overtuned the trash and bosses are.

Wanna meet irl and see if you have the same attitude?

“Retail” has lost all meaning thanks to forum posters and redditors

This is sarcasm right? Where is the camera?

ICC style nerf aura is already scheduled. Calm down.

There’s some Zirene quote floating around, I don’t have a link to that discord SS. Take it or leave it.

Well what did people expect? It’s new content! What, did people think this is still the Blizzard that made Vanilla? They’re not recycling content anymore. They can only do what they do nowadays.

Dunno bout that, haven’t you kept up to date on the undermine raid? It was overtuned, and has been receiving nerfs pretty regularly now

There are definitely periods of issues with retail fights being overtuned. I have NEVER seen them live update a raid fight in retail to cut half the health off the boss and then STILL have to add in additional tuning unless there was just some unforseen bug.

Tuning a fight happens all the time, no amount of testing can account for a realistic scenario.

This is very clearly way way overtuned in that there’s just a ton of adds endlessly spawning in these first two fights that have a ton of abilities to manage and do not offer the same kind of structured and planned mechanics as retail.

It’s pretty clear this raid was barely tested at all, if they tested anything other than the coding.

Blackrock Depths Anniversary.

I don’t remember them doing PTR testing for that one either, which would make it fall in line.

Good. Classic could use some difficulty. We don’t need to clear a raid the day it gets released, folks. Or even the week.
