Redridge for lowbies, Silithus for high levels.
I once met a dwarven lady that knitted
Based on the most deadly mobs from the deathlog addon, Westfall leads all other zones. You have Defias Pillagers and Trappers, plus the Harvest Reapers.
On another note, two of the most deadly enemies 30+ are the Hatecrest nagas in Feralas and the Skeletal Flayers in WPL. I see deaths from those two pop up all the time. People farm those mobs, but the mobs farm players as well.
That Witherbark troll cave in SE Arathi.
Forced to go in there for a quest, forced even harder to even think about going to the area for a Mage quest.
Place sucks.
Up past the early levels, it seems to be either Scarlet Monastery, BRD, or one of the Plaguelands. Just based upon the alerts that I’ve seen.
Durotar sees probably the most, but I’m not going to count that - if you die to Sarkoth the scorpion, you were doing something wrong, lol.
Stitches enters the chat
You get at warning for Stitches, Mor’Ladim just … spawns.
Easily mistaken for the Skeletal Raider in the haze as well.
Indeed so. Always good to “/tar mor” and mark before doing any questing in that region of duskwood.
(shivers) Don’t even get me started on Silverpine and those Sons of Arugal! From playing WoW way back in the day, and a month into hardcore, I thought I had down to a T where all of the Sons were, how far they went, etc right? One day on an alt we are doing the one quest where you have to kill all the Gnolls till the one name ghost spawns and take it out right? The normal show up people start inviting, we get to attacking, same old same old. Well one of our teammates is standing near the farm house and all he gets out is, “do you see that?” before a Son rushes the field pretty much one shots him and now is running at the rest of us! I knew they came up as far as the woods near the farm but NEVER have I seen one ON the farm!
If I learned one thing from playing HC it’s that Mobs, more so Elite ones, do CRAZY random stuff sometimes! Things I have NEVER in all my years playing WoW have seen them do! At this point if you told me and Elite could just walk into the town and start attacking everything and everyone, I would believe it!
The abomination guards at wicker man outside Undercity are definitely racking up the kills for Alliance heading to Scarlet Monestary. Lost two group members on their way last night, even after we warned them
Undercity elevator.
Interesting
I was in Redridge doing 1v3 mobs at level 18 … on my Warrior
I’ve had two deaths and more close calls in Duskwood than anywhere else so far
The level range for redridge mobs spans from 15-25 and the areas aren’t as defined. You can very easily go from smashing those level 15 spiders to getting rekt by a 19 welp over the next hill.
Personally, I’ve never struggled in redridge. I first go there at 19 after darkshore/westfall and do the level 15/16 intro quests until I hit 20. Then after a deadmines I’m at about 21 which make the midrange quests easier. I come back to finish the upper range quests after ashenvale and stonetalon.
It’s not very intuitive, but you need to bounce between multiple zones within a level range. The way classic was designed meant that you cannot progress through the quests in a single zone start to finish. You either need to do grinding sessions or go to another zone to keep up in exp. This is one of things cata did well. The quest revamp in the old world gave each zone a natural progression so you didnt need to bounce around, especially early where it doesnt make too much sense.
Imo it’s one of the things cata destroyed. It included getting rid of class quests and a lot of other things that made the classes unique.
