Honestly, one of them, they all had bad problems glaring back in time and I feel if I lived in any of them I would be a victim. Yet ,if I lived in those I wouldn’t have much of a choice.
if you lived at anyother time in history if you were not a noble or a king you had no freedom no say no ownership you would have nothing. i would never want to live in anyother time.
I am not so sure, plenty of humans did quite well in certain parts of the world save for war, there is always war…
Those were the good days though, you worked for your ruler and were treated well, depending on where you lived of course.
very small time period though. you were lucky if you survived to adulthood or if your a woman lucky if you didnt die from giving birth the lack of medicine the lack of hygiene the lack of freedoms if another nation or people invaded if your a guy you either become slave or conscripted into the kings army. world was crappy back in the day we are at the best time period ever to live in life was horrible in the past comparison.
If most of us lived at any other point in history we’d have been eaten by wolves. Americans get squeamish just thinking about visiting a country where A.C. in every building ISN’T the norm.
Roman villas in England had central heating systems shortly after the time of Christ. Doesn’t sound too bad.
Eh I would argue worse. This world is a horrible place now and there is nothing good left.
Can I say Golden Age Of Piracy? Cause that’s what I’d say.
Yikes!!!
My friend, please, spend some time with a historian. The world has never been as happy, healthy and peaceful as it is now (in spite of what clickbait news and creators want you to think).
Indoor plumbing, antibiotics, heart surgery, vaccines, toothpaste, access to education, clean water, women can work/own property/own money/vote, HVAC, freedom of religion (meaning, no witch hunts)… things are actually pretty great! Most everyone these days, even those who are quite poor live better than the kings of old!
uh,
I’ll stick with the time period that has plumbing, air conditioning, vaccines, medical care, education, transportation, dentists, etc.
But they had gods back then. People were far healthier as well.
… they died in their 20/30s
In the Middle Ages in cramped cities in Europe, people had no plumbing. They used basins that they emptied from their windows into the gutters below, whereafter it ran into the river where they got their drinking water. That’s why cholera epidemics were common.
In ancient civilizations, plumbing was the exception. The healthiest people lived in small villages that were far enough away from cities that epidemics didn’t reach them.
How do you post pictures on this forum. I can do yt links but im picture challenged
Note: i do my posting off my phone
I got a good meme for this. Edit i did it!
It depends where you lived. In Europe yea.
edit: Besides living till 30 sounds about right. Considering most people in the U.S. now do not make it till 50 save for a bout 1% of the population. Most of us die to liver disease before that.
90%+ of everyone lived in poverty until the industrial revolution.
If you say anything before that time, I don’t think you really understand what life will be like, unless you post under the delusion that you’ll somehow be part of that special <10%.
Yea.
To quote P. J. O’rourke:
One word: dentistry
Not giving up antibiotics, anesthetics, and pain medication.
I’ll live vicariously through theme parks instead.
Ours. Once future humans see how we lived and think we were barbaric.
The 1980s.
Not an ancient civilization, but an amazing time to be a kid when it came to pop culture, and a relatively small chance of dying from cholera.
