Exactly this. We had real vanilla wow on private servers with proper progression and mechanics.
Then they release this BFA version of vanilla and call it classic, full of bugs/issues and expect us to be grateful… what?

A lot of players think they’ve given Blizzard enough time to prove they can do Vanilla at least as good as a private server. They can’t. People aren’t going to keep playing, let alone pay for, something they think is sub par.
You do realize we’re paying for this, right…?
Yes, not everything will be as well done as a private server but the biggest thing that Blizzard has going for it is that our characters will not suddenly disappear one day due to dev corruption.
I’m just happy we have Classic supported finally by Blizzard. More power to you folks if you can get them to correct the issues that do pop up (AV for example).

I blame the cancerous Private Server tools who glorify a grossly inaccurate recreation of the game which at least 3/4ths of them likely didn’t ever participate in vanilla in the first place and go around touting how amazing private servers were and “classic being garbage”

uh, everyone here is PAYING blizzard.
It’s not like they gave this product out for free. I’ve been subscribed for the last several months and am considering quitting because they have consistently ignored what a majority of the community wanted with classic because they are being lazier than the people who used to run private servers.
Are you trolling? Did you play actual vanilla? Did you play private servers (recent ones)?
IF you did then you would know that private servers are way closer to vanilla than classic is, in MANY ways.
Classic is not vanilla wow, and has lots of bugs/issues still in the game. It is not only using the BFA/Legion client but also using the 1.12 data which was the nerfed version of the game
The only reason we have Classic is because people made enough noise and went out and made their own servers.
Classic is not vanilla wow, and neither are private servers. If you think they were, you’re delusional.

I played the actual vanilla wow + private servers + classic wow.
It is not my opinion, it is a FACT that private servers (the recent ones) are much closer to vanilla wow.
They had progressive content/gear/patches just like it was back in the day + the original client.
Sure they didn’t have the exact numbers for every single thing in the game, but it was still much closer to the game than this “classic wow” game is. F A C T.

Blizzards current version of the game sucked so much, they decided to bring back the game in its former state. I’m lucky to even have that? They could have never butchered it into oblivion in the first place. It’s not like they created a new game, they literally just handed me their 15 year old product.
Don’t tell me I’m “lucky” to have classic. Blizzard is lucky to have my business back after leaving them for years due to suckage.

Thanks for proving my point. 
We asked for this for SEVERAL YEARS and what we got was a halfass version where the designers aren’t even trying. Would you like it if you went to McDonalds and it took an hour to get your burger and fries, the food was cold, and then I told you to be grateful you got the food at all? Also the guy that ordered a chicken sandwich got his fries hot.
