Welp. I did it. I pugged fated norm nathria (tips)

These social interactions are the byproduct from which Blizzard designs their game from.

I can’t think of a less morbid example so I apologize in advance -If you take a bunch of starving animals and put them all in a room together, then place just enough food to feed one of them, they will ravage each other in order to get it.

Now, take said scenario, and then imagine people act all surprised when it happens.

Blizzard is entirely culpable for the culture they help to facilitate.

I mean yeah mythic 0 is the first stepping stone if you can’t jump into LFR or m+2s

Yes there are less people running m0s
Yes you can get denied from m0s

You’re only option is to start the group, or go another path like pvp or gold until you can que for LFR

Or just not participate in the gatekeeping fest that Blizzard continues to promote and go play other games.

Due to trash really. They need to greatly reduce trash in raids

Well you just asked how we did it.

How so? FFXIV has this “gatekeeping” too. Most groups require a “has completed duty” to even join groups and their community is very nice and positive, yet gatekeeping exists as a means to get good players and not carries with no knowledge.

The unwillingness to start a group isn’t blizzards fault though.

I made a new sham and went from 250-265 by running my own groups until I could Que for LfR

It’s not impossible to get into m0s - m+2s

How high are the stakes in final fantasy? is it normal for mount and transmog drops, pets, weapons etc. to be unobtainable after 6 months?

Granted, I am still new to FFXIV but so far the only thing I’ve really seen so far that was kind of like that was the Prince Noctis event. But they bring it back after a while so if you missed out you could wait until it’s back up.

Difference is, I can join a learning group and get completion without getting absolutely demolished by angry players, even late into a patch when learning groups aren’t really a thing you can get a few random people who are bored to help form a group, people in that game are a million times more approachable and forgiving than anything in this game.

Pity the game has no M+ because no reason to even play the game after a few weeks of every patch.

It’s pretty much

Ffxiv normal = wow LFR
Ffxiv savage = wow heroic/mythic
Normal trial = wow LfR
Extreme trial = wow heroic

Typically last boss of savage has the mount
Extreme trials have mounts

Ffxiv does have nice group tags for “practise, learning” and “duty completed already”

XIV doesnt do FOMO, everything always eventually comes back. WoW uses FOMO as a tool to get subs and push participation metrics.

They remove seasonal PVP mounts like WoW does with rated PVP mounts, but PVE mounts stay forever and you can overgear the fight eventually and get the mounts. Their “mythic equivalent” raid mounts remain at 100% as well after expansion, but trial mounts are % chance.

Trial mounts can be bought with 99 totems, one totem per run, and there is no weekly/daily lockout.

But are they unobtainable? As in, removed from the ability to progress to those more challenging tiers of content and getting said reward?

I am well aware that final fantasy has raid mounts for more difficult content.

But imagine if, say, Ixxion’s drop gets removed from the game. That increases the stakes, so you better be active or else you miss out, and those who earned it can feel all 1337 about it.

I think the latter example would definitely make the game more toxic.

Although if you think of OP as being in a “learning group” for 10 bosses
4-5 hours actually isn’t that bad.

We don’t know how many wipes per boss ect

I was NOT aware this even existed. Thanks!

Congrats :grinning:

In S3 it was locked behind achievements, but anyone can purchase it in S4

Unfortunately I dont have 10,000 cosmic flux. But I’ll keep that in mind.

Hey all for what it’s worth this is a great guide Ready Check Pull put out for norm/heroic Nathria. It breaks the fights down into just what you need to know in short format

this is way, way better than the dungeon journal
