Well, we're in Microsoft town now

Does this mean the ATVI CEO is finally gone?

I had no idea. So, I suppose they might continue to support Mac uses for World of Warcraft? I sure hope so because this is one of the only games that has a Mac version.

He’s going to continue to be on until the end of 2023, after then, we don’t know.

They bought it for King. Everything else will take second place. Phil is famous for letting games sink or swim. It won’t take ion long to sink the ship.

ACTI stock had tanked to 40 bucks a share. Bobbi’s bonuses were tied to how successful the game was.

bobbi even bragged about not taking bonuses as cover to do what he really was up to, there was a clause in his contract that let the bonuses go through if they were being bought out.

Now you know why.

That sound ominous, and depressing. I was rather hoping Microsoft would clean house :slightly_frowning_face:

Me too. When aholinka left I thought ion would follow him before the buyout. As a lawyer, I’ll bet ion has one helluva employment contract.

It’s probably a case of ‘it’s cheaper to keep’er’.

Yes - Microsoft has absolutely no reason to kill off Mac WoW themselves, beyond the troubles Activision was having with it beforehand. Mac WoW’s days very well have been numbered beforehand anyhow with the skullduggery Apple has been doing with the wall-gardening stuff, though, so if Activision ever had plans to kill Mac WoW it’s very much unlikely the Microsoft buyout will change it.

But if Activision had been committed to keeping it going as long as they could, then the Microsoft buyout probably won’t change that, either, only time will tell.

Should work fine on Linux im sure Mac can do similar. Actually I get more fps running linux than winblows

It’s a Rumble Promotion!

Kinda weird when MS apps run better on iOS than on Android. It seems MS put more effort into developing Apple apps and I don’t think they hate each other (on a corporate level) that’s just fanboys fighting each other.

What Im seeing there is sequels often suck. Not even the might MS is beyond screwing up games based on the original.
If anything, this is an argument against making a WoW 2.
IF MS can make good expansions for THIS warcraft then it might be ok.
If not, well, 3 of the last 5 expansion have been stinkers, so they’d be in good company.

Or just make wow a free to play pay to win game. We level in old world zones and in order to play an expansion we have to buy it. Sounds fair to me.
