Kisin I don't feel any weaker and I haven't developed a sudden urge to marry a human.
You're thinking of our... diminuitive kin. Perfection is a delicate balance, and the Thalassian grouping of Elves have diluted Elune's blessings with... other magics, and become lesser.

Definitely still not an elf.
To be honest, I'm not surprised. I doubt a single necklace could do it. It took a large lake of the stuff to elevate such a... basal form.
As I said in another thread, your best bet would be to fall in with the Lun'alai, and hope the Goddess takes pity on you.

Why would we want to become frail and floral-scented?
Yeah, I made the connection as soon as it was revealed. It was part of my biggest complaint about the pre-patch. Pockets of the planet's mineralized blood are popping up all over the world:
Do we take it to the Dwarves, experts in both minerals and Titan lore?
Do we take it to the Night Elves, beings born and shaped by Azeroth's lifeblood, who still have some original Highborne in their ranks?
Nah. Let's take it to the 18 year old Human, to see what he has to say about it.
That human potential bro.

You only start getting frail and weak if you stay in there for too long. As you saw in that Darkshore cinematic the
proper kind of elves are much stronger than pitiful trolls.
Human chicks are pretty nice though. It could be worse.

I mean, ManBearPig...err... ElfBirdDeer is hardly an example of a standard Night Elf. Ganking a small band of mooks guarding a shipment isn't exactly the stuff of legends either.

I'd also hardly call him the pinnacle of physical strength among night elves. He's nothing like Broll-sama.

I'd argue otherwise. Malfurion's whole deal is that he's in a kind of constantly partially shifted state. He is beyond a normal night elf in physical strength because he is partially in animal form while still retaining the advantages of a humanoid stance.
It's also why he was able to completely manhandle Saurfang in hand to hand. Malfurion is incredibly physically powerful.

Did he and Saurfang ever actually fight though? He gored some grunts with those glove-claws, but I thought Sylvanas got in the way while Saurfang had resigned to his fate.

I don't know the specifics unfortunately. I've just read that Saurfang tried to Mak'gora Malfurion knowing he would die to buy time and got wrecked.
here's how I think of it:
If Azerite is the actual blood of Azeroth, then the waters of the Well of Eternity, Sunwell, etc. would be the plasma component of that blood, still seeping out of a wound that's not quite closed.

Either way I'd put my money on Broll if he and Malfurion were going to just duke it out. I think people just like to forget that the night elves are gigantic 7' beefcakes.

I'd bet on Malfurion given how effortlessly he pinned that troll, honestly.
As for the muscle, well. Let me know when a night elf is able to penetrate steel plate armor with their thumbs like the Zandalari can.

Frost, Forest, and Zandalari trolls are all hench as !@#$. Jungle trolls are lean, but wiry, and canonically much stronger than humans- no official modern statement on whether they are stronger than Nelves, but all of the (Noncanon!) RPG books have indicated as much, as did their starting stats ingame- until Cataclysm, dwarves were the only Alliance race with a higher starting strength than trolls.
Anyway, the frailty I was referring to was the loss of regeneration.
And I'll notice you haven't bothered to deny that you smell of lavender.

In A Good War, they do fight, and Malfurion bodies Saurfang. It honestly pissed a lot of us off- not that he won, which was believable enough, but that he was winning effortlessly, even in the purely martial portions of the fight.
It did establish Malfurion as a real threat, but it kinda stank of the Worf Effect.

Okay fair. Also I prefer Old Spice: Bearglove to lavender, but I wouldn't judge any elf that didn't.

That makes sense. I can see why it would be annoying but I am pretty okay with it. Like I said, Malfurion is in a partially shifted state all the time. He's far beyond the physical strength of a normal elf. Plus I've always assumed druids that shapeshift rely on far superior physicality in their forms to compensate for a lack of weapons and armor.
But I am also a big Malfurion fan, so I am likely biased. I am just happy he isn't the one getting Worfed for a change. The character has a long history of being captured to build up new threats and it has kind of ruined his reputation.
Unfortunately they went on to undo that by painting Sylvanas as having the upper hand later. So eh.

The thing is that it doesn't say that anywhere. He's always been characterized as a balance druid, maybe resto. Even being "partially shapeshifted" he has... what? Bird wings, cat feet, and antlers?

Malfurion doesn't really adhere to druid specs. As we can see, he's decided to start using his bear form now that he's being more aggressive, but he's still fully capable of using his magic.
He has panther paws on his feet, antlers like Broll, and his hands have claws even not counting the clawed gauntlets he wears. I think the bird wings are a part of his outfit but I'm not sure.
It seems pretty clear Malfurion is supposed to be stronger than a normal elf. It wouldn't make sense for a normal night elf to completely overpower an orc veteran in hand to hand or casually one arm pin a troll against a tree. They are tall and strong, but physical strength isn't one of their defining characteristics. Malfurion, on the other hand, is practically a demigod with clear physical traits other elves don't have and is widely known as one of the most powerful mortals on Azeroth. We can't take him as a portrayal of what is normal for his kind.
Plus the last time we saw a night elf in melee with an orc she wasn't doing so well. Way back in Vanilla WoW's cinematic, if you remember it.
