I mean, guess thats one option, but in general, nah.
Normally Iâd be inclined to agree, but for the past x amount of years it seems like writers, actors, whoever, go on strike for 3/4âs of the year
And if itâs about pay, thatâs not my fault as a consumer, as I pay a premium for my entertainment. I donât want to say I donât care about their woes, but man, we all got our problems.
At this point Iâd like for the game I pay for to have fully voiced characters and be polished, finished, etc. in a timely manner.
The more I am to be expected to take âthey on strikeâ at face value and just accept that, the less I genuinely care.
But Iâd be remiss if I didnât mention, stuff like this is mildly unpalatable compared to what I consider real problems and it isnât something I think about too much.
The only time i ever agreed to AI replacing people was with Western Localizers, theyre so unbelievably bad at their jobs that nobody felt sorry for them when some anime studios started doing that.
It was a case of the lesser of the two evils.
nobody cares what you agree with. Itâs a practical solution with good results.
Imagine your job being replaced by AI, not so good ainât it?
Or AI replacing art, which should never EVER happen.
Tractors replaced farmers. Factories replaced facotry workers and child labor.
People lose jobs as technology develops, youâre just fighting progress.
Note to self: Assume anyone without a VA will die. ![]()
Guess now we know why he didnât get a VA.
The joke is that he tried to say âWatch outâ but he had no voice and had to take action instead.
blizzard management with the 10 yard snipe⌠RIP
Yeah, I thought exactly the same thing when THAT happened. Made me wonder if thatâs why they didnât bother with any spoken lines, knowing this was going to happen somewhat early on.
Voice acting is already problematic work to get into due to companies not wanting to pay people for their time and capability.
Even if you shifted to AI, youâd still need people with desired voices for roles to train the AI on, and it still would not be capable of what an actual voice actor can do.
Tractors made workloads manageable for fewer people and make certain work easier/faster. Tractors arenât automagically managing farms, and thereâs only so much you can do from the seat of a tractor. Iâd know, Iâve actually done ranch work and farm work.
Itâd be more accurate to state that tractors replaced some of the grunt labor that farmers or ranches would hire laborers for.
Factories replaced some of that element with automated systems but still need human elements present for various functions.
Humans designed, built, sometimes need to operate, and maintain those systems.
âRenzik will be the voice of the revolution!â cut to Renzik the mute
so do we have confirmation that there was an actual VA for Reznik but that heâs on strike and thatâs why he wasnât voice or was this just Blizz screwing up a patch as always?
Just did this quest and wow.
Poor Renzik. ![]()
