Hahah I think you’re onto something man

It’s almost like I didn’t experience it because I went and did other things when I couldn’t complete gather quests, like grinding XP, or grinding a dungeon :sunglasses:
Try not to get stuck on quests, they trap players like you.

So I watched the video you linked. Not once did I hear the word ‘promise’, or ‘guarantee’, or any language remotely similar.

I’m super casual when it comes to classic, I have no problem with that. I knew what I was in for when I went to the server my retail guild is on 2 weeks into the thing, that doesn’t mean I enjoy it.

If you don’t enjoy it then why play it?

Or what? You gonna throw anther hissy fit?

Why was I quoted in this?

They promised…but did they pinky swear?

Because, and I know this will come as a surprise, retail is even less appealing. What I do enjoy is the well written quests, the detailed environment and the classes feeling unique. I do not find pleasure in being in the midst of a swarm trying to do the same thing. It isn’t their fault, but to bring this back around to the original point removing layering would only make this worse.

Well you might want to work something out soon my friend because according to Omar and Brian Layering will be removed BEFORE phase 2.

I know it’s coming but I also have confidence there will be fewer people a month from now. We’re still well inside the newness phase for a lot of people, it’ll wear off and some will move on. Nothing wrong with that either, but I don’t think anyone believes even the current player base will be maintained that long into the future. Removing layering in itself isn’t a bad thing, it’s just doing it at the correct time. I choose to believe they will.

I wouldn’t go that far. He’s the one that thought it would be cool to remove flying from the game. He’s also the one that put Pathfinder into the game when he didn’t get his way

Honestly; he is one person you cant expect him to please everyone. Not everyone will agree with everything everyone does; but at least he gets stuck in and gives it his best, he is a living genius to manage something as big as wow.

People who complain about him should really ask themselves what if someone like Jay Wilson was in charge? or hell; even Wyatt Cheng?

I wouldn’t even have an issue with Pathfinder if it wasn’t for part 2 and the ridiculously long time gate in between part 1 and 2. That’s just asinine and being an a-hole about it

I never liked pathfinder as part of the game either. There are many things I do not like about wow, but it hasnt been catered to me simply because I play a sub. He has managed to keep wow going and getting people excited for years; he has kept one of my favorite games going; for that I am thankful; to have some of the same friends playing the same game for more than 13 years. Blizzard need more thanks than they get.

Were it not for the cash shop and paid services, the game likely would have died off a long time ago. I have no illusions about retail restoring its former glory. Every new expansion is cool for only about a month or so and then it’s garbage. Legion was the closest thing to Wrath as far as enjoyment went in the game for me. I was absent prior to WoD during Cataclysm and MoP, but my hate for Cataclysm is justified after what happened to Azeroth and the talent trees getting axed

And this is why we can’t get answers. You realize there was an enormous amount of people wanting to play Classic, way more than anyone thought, right?

I wouldn’t say anyone… I made a comment in a thread on my retail Avatar 10 days before launch telling blizzard they had no idea how many people were going to come back for Classic. I called it 100%

I even said “you think you do, but you don’t”
I followed it up with “You are NOT prepared” straight up Illidan style

Yep, and now there are servers who don’t have that many. They added so many new servers because people hounded them, and now who knows what’s going to happen with them.

It’s their game and there is no “deal.” You play the game they make and they make the decisions. Layering being a thing is most likely because there are still tons of people playing, especially in the earlier zones.

Just because you’re okay with making leveling that much harder for people that have lives outside of the game and can’t get ahead of the pack of casuals doesn’t mean everyone else is.

Honestly not even sure why you care about layering to be honest. It’s a good thing there isn’t 100 people fighting for the same 5 quest mobs you have to gather 10 items from with a 1/10 drop rate.
