Over on SWC we would call them G.I.R.L. players
This one went out of style pretty quick, but the use of “Creep” for mobs. Which a lot of WC3 > WoW players used in Vanilla.
Whats SWC?
Never heard that one.
So that’s what it stands for, haha. I thought the same thing, pst (whisper?) me!
Outside of Dungeons abbreviations or what has been mentioned so far, game words like “Latency” was never used in my personal experience. Took me a bit to figure that one out.
Fail.
I’m pretty sure that came from “Darkstone”. When you try to use a skill unsuccessfully, the avatar declares: “fail”.
hehe, I left that one in there. It’s for our realm Steamwheedle Cartel.
I know. . not a “common” one. . but it was to us.
We also had a realm slogan
Steamwhedle Cartel, the best RP server ever. EVER!
I figured thats what it was, I couldn’t remember how to spell it so I just left it to be answered.
When I first played wow in 06 and I’d see posts in gen chat or trade advertising something and saying “pst”. I quickly learned that it meant to whisper the poster if you wish to respond.
I assumed that “pst” was just a shorthand for “pssst”. Like someone saying under their breath, “pssst, lemme tell you something just between the two of us.”
Derp
Glad to know Im not the only one.
Latency Im trying to remember. I want to think it was referred to as " server lag" by most of my friends but my brain is a bit fuzzy on that one.
Another one!
No joke. I still remembering trying to figure out how to answer the first whisper I ever got.
I don’t remember who it was from or what it said, but I remember feeling stupid for not knowing how to answer.
One you don’t see anymore:
Frag
inc EI s/w 100m
inc Pnz3 n 500m
I can remember my first MMO someone telling me in spatial to send them a " tell ". I was like, what in the Sam Hill is that? Reply I understood, but a tell?
I think its why I love the early days so much, just figuring out basic stuff was fun
I cant even remember what it was in reference too but I do remember seeing the term.
I thought they were called toons because of how cartoonish the game looked. I heard toon way back in tbc.
No idea what that is
My husband played on SWC in vanilla. He was an active RP’r with characters on both Horde and Alliance side, but mainy Horde.
I’m not sure when it started, but I know a ton of my old friends hated the term.
