So something weird happens all of a sudden at random times (couldn’t quite figure out how and when). My FPS seem to drop considerably from 120 to 70-80.
The weird thing is, when I switch the “Graphics Card” Setting from my 4070 to Auto Detect. It fixes itself and goes back up to 120.
Then it happens again and I go ahead and switch from Auto Detect to my 4070 and it goes back up to 120.
No idea what is causing the FPS drop or why switching that setting would fix it.
First I would check to see if you have some sort of vertical sink on. If you have some sort of Vsync on switching it back and forth would start it back on the original FPS. VSync sets the frame rate at fractions of the monitors fpe
I have vsync on, my display is at 60hz, so it’s weird that it’s showing me 120 FPS in game, I will try different settings with the nvidia control panel
I think I know the issue, my monitor is 120hz but I have it setup at 60hz, but somehow the game only picks up 2500x1600@120hz instead of 2500x1600@60hz.
I’ve seen other games give the option to choose between those 2 resolutions and refresh rates, but for whatever reason, WoW doesn’t.
This still doesn’t explain why the FPS fixes itself when I change the Graphics Card option.
If anybody knows a workaround this, would be appreciated.
With Vsync on it will set the fps to even fractions of the refresh rate if for any reason it can not maintain the maximum. Changing the settings resets it untill it finds a situation that it can not maintain refresh and fps sync
