It’s really gross, I’ve got to agree.
Another day another 21 disc priests hitting 2100.
Really simple. People think that the class can gap bridge skill deficiency.
I actually had a fresh disc priest last week tell me and another dps in lobby that they didn’t bind life swap because they thought it wasn’t a good pvp talent. Just an example. I’ve also seen about half the paladins I’ve qd into that lost not use bubble, or bop or both when big damage was inc.
This, it could not be said any better. It’s WoW retail problem #1. People reroll and end up playing classes they’re not good with.
Making leveling completely mindless and quick didn’t help this situation.
I blame streamers and their stupid tier list.
I play a bit of disc (not FOTM only healer I play and have always had 2)
I have mostly played RBG’s in the past but solo’s have ruined that fun in Australian times so I play a bit of solo shuffles (Blitz is one of the worst modes of the game I have even seen so stay well away unless im drunk)
Anyway I have tried my hand as solo shuffles and yep 100% agree disc is ruining the fun, we got some decent nerfs but that was like water off a ducks back. I think the other healers need to be buffed up to spec rather than disc nerfs though.
As for the play style what did the patch notes say for season 2, something along the lines of disc is too hard to play, cry cry cry so we are simplifying things. Would much rather see it have less healing and absorbs and for them to give us the knock we had back in shadow lands to get the melee away. Also Ultimate Penance is just a cheese spell should have never been part of the game (even though I do like to use it).
I vote to give us disc priests back rapture and shining force (the knockback), remove ultimate penance, and tame down our healing and absorbs a little whist boosting other healers up to par.
PS remove solo content from the game too so people come back and play RBG’s in Australian times.
I’ve stopped playing random BGs on my alts. My last match, I AFK’d out of because it was 70% disc or MM hunters. Literally 21/30 players were MM or Disc in a random BG. Insanity.
It’s way too easy to level/gear FOTM now, so that’s really all you see now. Takes all the fun out the game.
Yeah, for real. All rewards being account wide, tuning being so spaced out, imbalances being horrific and ease of gearing makes the current meta just tedious playing into the same few overtuned things.
Yeah please dont advocate for making gearing take longer. I hate the rerollers as much as the next guy, but please don’t kick me in the balls in an attempt to find a solution.
Resto shaman would be n1 dominating heals if it weren’t for disc, so not sure what you mean about this, unless the shaman is the reroll.
I hate facing other resto shamans lol, I dont want them to be the top of the pyramid.
Making this game more painful to play isn’t going to help the dwindling playerbase hoss.
Think about those of us without tons of time to play, I have two level 80s and only play one if you make it a bigger time sink im juat going to walk away.
Maintaining a toon isn’t the problem. It’s the ability to level/buy a brand new toon and have honor ready so it’s fully honor geared within a day of being brand new. That causes massive FOTM issues.
Maintaining one to two toons isn’t hard or a problem, it’s how easy it is to swap to a brand new one when it’s massively OP and untouched by blizzard for months if ever that season.
It wouldn’t be a problem if they did better and more frequent PvP specific tuning, but they don’t, and this is the outcome.
No streaming culture does.
WoD and MoP had both very diverse pvp seasons with super easy gearing tracks.
Terrible balancing and streamers basically doomposting about how something is super weak and then the lemmings ignore it specifically to go for the new hotness
I can’t see how taking away one of the few modern things this game has going for it (gearing) is the ideal solution from the community for Blizzard poorly tuning and the the community being composed of dirtballs.
You take away the tools the dirtballs use, and the dirtballs leave.
Call me old fashioned, but people should play a character because they like the theme and playstyle, not because it’s the flavor of the month.
It’s not hard to maintain conquest, you can play less than 2-3 hours a week. But you shouldn’t be able to beat instantly be playing a freshly bought toon in rated play because it’s more powerful. Blizzard needs to do a much better job at frequent tuning, as well. Both blizzard and the community are at fault for what we have.
Yeah and streamer culture is why that has happened.
I think you vastly overestimate who watches wow streams. Disc would be massively fotm even if there were no streams.
I’m not talking about just disc.
During BFA all the streamers screamed about how warrior sucked, tons of players screamed about it too, but they were actually really good.
So many discussions on these forums are also people talking about “tier lists” all the time.
But as I already mentioned mop and wod both had super easy gearing and wasn’t just 1 spec healing everything. (Granted better balancing than now for it, but hey)
Disc is genuinely fun to play, it’s always popular unless Holy is just too insane to pass up playing.
