I did the same, and just like you said although it wasn’t the same, it was still very nostalgic for me and brought back a lot of good memories. I still remember the first time I discovered Goldshire. Although it isn’t very big at all, back then for some reason when I walked up on that little city with the sun down and trees rustling surrounded by rabid wolves and the sound of someone making an armor set using the forge and cracking a hammer over the anvil it was absolutely breathtaking and felt like a massive city to me. Those types of feelings won’t happen again, but I still remember the exact emotions that I had and what it felt like as a kid.
they are coming back to milk you in a few years
Too late, we lost our characters to Cata. I won’t start over once again.
I’d be okay with a fresh TBC server and starting over again, as long as the server would be permanent and I could take my time.
This would have to happen soon though. If Blizzard waits a few years to do this, then what’s the point? I’ll have most likely moved on by then.
I would, maybe, start over, but I would not once again re-create my old main, and get all the different gear, mounts and so on, as I did with the launch of Classic through BC and the first months of Wrath. I would only play very casualy, Draenei, and probably mostly IronMan.
Yeah but who wants to play with smelly wotlk lovers? Give them their era server! Same with TBC. I want to play with cata lovers. They’re not spreading the player base, they’re letting them choose where they want to go. Why force people to play an expansion with you that they don’t like? I want to play with people that actively WANT to play the expansion we’re playing.

Agreed! Make classic servers for TBC and WOTLK!
Yup. 1 pve and 1 pvp server for Vanilla, TBC and Wrath. Permanent, never progressing servers.
I’m ready, bring on the milk
You only think you wouldn’t…
Hmm, no. I do not feel like spending days of my life doing the Brewfest beer runs over and over and over to buy the Brewer’s hadstamp once again … and I could not - It was only a TBC feature, so my hypothetical new Wrath Era character could not even do it.
And most of my other gear were lucky drops, not to be re-created.
I have just left my main untouched in Cata - hoping that Blizz will become wiser and re-create Wrath Classic for those not having been rouched in Cata. Maybe a vain hope, but as I am not going to play Cata at all, not logging in to experience non-existing pre-patch events is no loss.
