Relentless skepticism is a sign of juvenile immaturity, notably in the face of evidence you couldn’t have been bothered to read in the first place.
Yet you have no facts to prove this. That’s like saying people in science were dumber 50 years ago. But people in science nowadays just have better equipment and tools to help them make breakthroughs faster.
Google wasn’t nearly as effective 15+ years ago as it is today and there were no websites to check parses. Stop patting yourself on the back and state some evidence to represent your comments.
Dude just stop, every single person besides you knows that people have gotten better at the game over 15 years, it’s pretty dumb to say otherwise.
Weirdly people improve at things over time, and there are more advanced addons, and access to more information than ever
Only if they give us Honored heroic keys.
I killed Magtheridon last night fairly smoothly. A couple of DPS got bounced in front of Mag and ate a cleave to die, but we got them up and kept trucking without missing a single set of clicks.
It felt easy, smooth, and no one was on fumes or struggling, the very definition of a clean and effective kill by original TBC standards.
We had multiple DPS parse sub 20% and we took a long long time to kill him.
People play substantially better now. The overall knowledge and skill of the game has improved across the board and what would have been top 5 guild level back in the day on most servers is complete Dad-core Guild now.
Playing worse is in no way equal to actual intelligence.
The ancients were not stupid people at all, and they thought through problems better than many modern-day folks ever do in their lifetime. Players of original TBC on the other hand were fresh faced MMORPG hobbyists who couldn’t really even begin to theorycraft because so few people were even trying to theorycraft. People gravitated to whatever was known to work, and what was known to work was largely set in stone by top tier guilds who had the time and manpower to just put in 100’s of attempts until the boss fell over with whatever comp and gear they had.
That will never compare to the decade+ worth of tweaking and theorycrafting people have developed since then. Theory takes time to develop and mature.
This isn’t some slight, we just didn’t know any better.
It isn’t an insult to note that Algebra I is fundamentally easier as an adult than as a child because as a child we were simply ignorant and unfocused. That’s just reality.
The person I replied that comment to legit thinks people weren’t as intelligent in the game back then, going as far as calling them “potatoes”.
Another statement that you have no facts to prove. You must be a joy to have discussions with. I bet you’re the “know it all” in your circle of friends.
I think you are arguing just for the sake of arguing so I’m done replying.
It’s pretty obvious that people improve at things over the course of time.
Skill-wise, he’s not wrong.
Literally the only people who have said the word “intelligent” or “intelligence” are you and I. He called us potatoes back then. We were.
I can give a very simple and easy example: driving.
First time drivers are reckless or overly cautious because they lack the experience and skill to drive properly. As such, they drive “like idiots” because their driving is indistinguishable, and just as dangerous, as someone who is deliberately doing so because they’re simply stupid or dumb.
You’re taking grave offense to a one-off comment that isn’t even wrong.
have you considered crying more
Over what?
Less people are playing every day.
They ruined PvP, the only casual time filler outside of farming.
Blizzard is killing another of their games. Almost as if they are inept.
they’ll all be back when T5 comes out, probably in a month or so.
Not all of them. This is the same arrogance we get from Blizzard. How’s that working out? Massive loss of subs? Fascinating.
It’s ok, they will make up the revenue with the Overlords of Outlands Pass.
“Join your friends and battle for Outland with the Overlords of Outlands Pass! Instantly become Exalted with Honor Hold/Thrallmar, Cenarion Expedition, Lower City, Sha’Tar and Keepers of Time, while also attuning you to all current and future content in TBC! Buy your Overlords of Outlands Pass today for only 39.99$!”
I wouldn’t be surprised if they did something like this sigh
It should be 100$ at least amirite
It would almost be nice.
At that point even the most oblivious of Blizzard shills would see that the writing is on the wall.
I’m tempted to cancel my sub anyway. 2 more friends quit this weekend.
The game is wasting away.
Because classic wasn’t vanilla. The burning crusade classic is not the burning crusade.
That’s hard to say, for two reasons.
First the gaming culture has changed significantly in the last decade or so. What once considered to be hardcore is not just normal, and what was once considered casual is just not even playing by today’s standards. People in general take gaming much more seriously than they did back then.
Second, we know all the fights, this content is solved. Back then there weren’t really any YouTube guides on how to kill bosses. And if there was they didn’t come out for quite some time, not like modern wow where all the guides are out before the patch drops. Players had to just figure out the fight and devise a strat on their own. Some guilds shared strats, and some kept them as closely guarded secrets. Remember by the time BC came out players already knew how to play the game.
It’s not a question of skill, but one of knowledge. If you gave most of the “dad guilds” a brand new BC raid they’d probably fall flat on their face, because they’re not more skilled, they just know the mechanics already.
God you people b**** about everything. I’m sure you can find ssc on a private server. Or maybe you can go create your own game where your impatience matters.
