No, we need Wrath as it ORGINALLY was, that’s it…
Thats not a slippery slope. Its actually the historical record.
that ain’t happening. so what’s the step from here? complain more on the forums or play the game? or quit the game. idk what to tell u.
You do realize the majority of people who play this game are casual, right? The game could blow up tomorrow or servers crash - they wouldn’t blink an eye. To think they wouldn’t want RDF is bold, but wrong.
The majority would likely want it. At least as it was in 2009.
It’s 2022, and we’re arguing over it. And me, at this point, I could care less. I realize i’m about to get overloaded with new toys with upcoming games I look forward to playing. Wow classic isn’t really up there, considering I did all this wrath content 12 or so years ago, and BC 14 years ago.
And yes, it’s a limited number of us for and against it in the forums. Most players could give two poops about what we’re back and forth about.
How do you know it’s not happening?
Because the game was released not like original wrath.
I doubt they’ll maintain their position later into the expansion though. I’m aware of what they say, but I’m also aware of Blizzard’s action-tendencies more than anything else. Blizzard always asserts a certain unpopular systemic change and then retracts their obstinance with time. In this case, it will probably come about as a post-hoc alignment with the actual release window of RDF. My issue with the RDF crowd is the hysterical insistence upon the immediate implementation of RDF; it’s a trojan-horse for pathological intentions which expand beyond just RDF. RDF today, LFR tommorrow, etc.
If the complaint was ‘I want RDF eventually’, I wouldn’t have any qualms. The problem is that, almost always, it’s the much more insidious ‘give me RDF now!’ coupled with the implication of ‘I need to afk in a city!’.
To think they would want RDF is wrong.
See how that works? I can shout out opinions also. Except in my case though, I have blizzard comments saying my opinion is the correct one.
Whoops, forgot to mute this thread.
Not trying to be rude but why even comment this. like what does this comment do
I used to think that. Then I read the post regarding the new tool. They don’t have the bodies working on classic that retail does. They have 8 to 10 people working on classic, thats it. I don’t think there is a chance it makes its way in, because the developers working on it now do not know how to integrate it.
Then it is NOT “classic”.
Glad we’re on the same page. This isn’t classic wotlk, obviously. What are they gonna do rerelease wotlk on the first real patch of wotlk? we’re in too deep now.
No, they’re not comparable. But people like to use “it wasn’t added until ICC” as some kind of gotcha when it’s not.
That said, why are you personally so concerned about RDF? As has been said repeatedly, you don’t have to use it. I think I know the answer. You know as well as I do, that if you remove that carrot, a significant number of players simply won’t need your guilds for that content anymore. Instead of creating positive reinforcement by making your guilds such a welcoming place that people can clearly see that it’s better than playing solo, you’d rather the game create negative reinforcement by limiting what players can reasonably do without a guild.
I don’t care what they put in the game. The fact of the matter is that dual spec is in the game and rdf isn’t, and i have no complaints with the game as is. It’s funny you chose me to ask how I’m “personally” concerned about rdf when I said earlier I’ll do the content regardless of what’s in the game.
Maybe, but every decent WOTLK private server has had RDF despite their paltry and often rag-tag development teams, shoddy ripped code, etc.
And at any rate, if the circumstances really are so fatalistic, i.e. such that Blizzard cannot capably integrate RDF into the game due to whatever limitations, then all the complainers on the forums are effectively screaming into the void.
Know what is a gotchya?
The fact the its not in game is a player feedback thing. The same 6 people cycling their alts to make it look like more people is not going to change that fact.
And yes, that is a fact.
But if that’s the case just say that. Don’t BS us about “community” or whatever. They can just simply say “we feel like RDF has x,y,z affect on the gearing process and how quickly players chew through content, so we won’t be releasing it until X time”. I think most (not all) people would be fine with that. But again, that’s not what they said.
Well that’s the root of your contention. You can dismiss the reason they gave, but it’s a reason nonetheless. It shines forward in the way people think; your earlier post about how ‘it doesn’t affect you’, for example. I’d contend that it does. Every systemic change has a ripple-effect in terms of how it incentivizes player behavior and dynamics. One cannot ‘opt out’ of society and its consequences, even in a virtual context.
In tier 10 the game becomes much more casual in terms of how quickly people can catch up and pug into whatever contents, and by that point the overall dynamic of the game has shifted, so RDF is more suitable.
I don’t know. Never played on private servers. Never really felt the need to. I’ve played retail on and off since 2006, and never really felt the urge to play a “wrath” private server. Though I played classic, but that’s included with my retail sub.
