I’m suggesting that i cant be the only one having these problems. and no i wasn’t anti rdf i just started playing 3 weeks ago. I assumed without looking it up Rdf would be included.
I played some in the last phase of TBC and it was empty as well. And at the time world chat only complained about how they needed to do cross server mergers to keep the game alive they were asking for rdf as well even then.
What i want is a fun game, not a solo adventure in an oversized and empty world. Not dungeons that take hours or even days to get into. I didn’t advocate for this nor would I have.
I didn’t play vanilla classic, I wasn’t looking at it through rose colored glasses. I remember how it took all my time and that I had virtually no life. I didn’t feel the same as others trying to relive their nostalgia, that was impossible. So I returned to play a game when I remember the game being more enjoyable with heroic dungeons, rdf, plenty of mounts to collect, arenas, and fun bg’s.
All my friends who played from the launch of WoWc no longer play and that was over 20 folks. Sure they all quit for their own reason but realizing that they don’t have the time to play like they used to was a big factor. That and the whole blizzard sex scandal actually made some of them swear the game off.
It’s the opposite retail is the result of blizzard ignoring the playerbase and doing random garbage, you know like what they’re doing in wrath classic.
The initial feedback of artifact weapons was good. It was new snd fresh. But the honeymoon period ended fast. Blizzard had already listened to the initial feedback. Not what followed.
People liked class halls and the lore associated with them but blizzard dropped that and kept the stupid power grind. For at least two more expansions despite the negative feedback(no idea how bad it will be in DF)
They listed to the knee jerk reaction feeback from the start. It took them 2 years to start to change course, but they listened to the initial reaction before the honeymoon phase was over.
Retail is what it is because of listening to the community to early in the honeymoon phase and then being set on that course for 2+ years. The initial feedback of rdf was “its good” so after the honeymoon phase ended and people began seeing the bad in rdf, they already had lfr in development and pushed it through.
Very few ever liked the power grind(or that is ate up your weapon slot)
Blizzard ignored both of those things and dropped the part that people actually liked. That’s the opposite of listening to the community. Another great example is flying.
Aka, people were initially excited and enjoyed it (during leveling and lore questing) and gave good feedback on that. That is what blizzard listened to. Before the honeymoon phase was over and people started the true grind.
They listened. But essentially listened to the first reaction of people, and not the long term reaction.
And that survey doesn’t appease the community now? Perhaps every few months they should release a new servey to see how they’re doing and the mood of the player base.
