Ugh, the hybrid tax was a terrible idea. If I want to DPS, I want to DPS. I don’t want to be gimped because I have the option of rocking a tank or healer, because then you’re punishing someone for just liking the way a certain spec plays. Also, as mentioned above, great way to make people not want to tank or heal.
You also have to account for the frequency in which those skills are required in a raiding setting. Poisons does not count it is a form of DPS. Summons and healthstones are a thing a raid team aims for when selecting, slows is something that is a perk that no one really focus’s on when selecting. Immunity is great in specific fights but it does not get you invited to every fight like healthstones does.
We need to adjust dps to balance raid inviting. If someone already has a skill that “being awesome at battle rezzes” they don’t need more dps to get invites. But if you have a class that only has tricks that are very situational, they do need more dps to ensure the same amount of invites.
Isn’t the hybrid tax the need to have multiple gear sets and for bfa & shadowlands at least having to make multiple legendries or and swapping conduits/azurite traits/covenents? I really hope DF ditches all that garbage.
Ive felt this way for awhile. So what, you have two good specs, that doesnt keep you from having to do all the BS that goes along with it. The only thing you skip is the 6 hours it takes you to level.
It’s the law of the (WoW) jungle: [class that killed me] is OP and needs to be nerfed, [class I play] is weak and needs to be buffed, and [class that mine hard-counters] is fine and just needs to get gud.
