state of the game is mash CC hard as you can. i think some kind of ability to reverse the CC or cause harm to CCers would be a good addition. Rogue opens up with cheap shot, you use the anti CC move and when they kidney you it does like a fire DoT on them or something. the chain CC is real bad right now. lookin at you shadow priests.
CC and burst. If people have an out/save then they’re fine, and if not they die. That’s pvp in a nutshell. In the event one doesn’t have a “save”, then they have a teammate cover them. In an uncoordinated environment basically just stick with the pack if vulnerable solo.
Medallion?
long cooldown for battlegrounds. medallion is good for arenas, “poop” for BGs.
No, it’s very good in battlegrounds. Bordering on mandatory, honestly, unless you’re playing something with breaks like DK or very durable like a tank.
Grip>asphyx somebody with medallion, they trinket, wall, use freedom+sprint, and they live. Grip>asphyx somebody with no medallion (which can be seen) and they’ll almost always die.
i mean yeah they get out of it once and then get some other CC immediately applied. its not garbage for battlegrounds, but its so much less useful.
I have a feeling a lot of people in random BGs are completely unaware of cds or trinkets being used around them and just mash their buttons hoping to kill something.
DRs are scuffed, though. If I get cheaped for 4 seconds, I trinket, use wall, then get cheaped for 2 into 1 then I’m going to live unless I’m in the middle of like 5 people with cds.
Yeah, which is why it’s super relaxing. I know that in 20 seconds I can reliably blow them up and they’re poking into range to moonfire for some reason.
Most of my rogue bgs were just sitting in stealth until I saw somebody without medallion.
I think a lot of people get themselves in this situation too and just expect to live for some reason. Seems that way from some of the complaints anyway.
Playing my rogue has been so fun today, I haven’t really played it since Legion but it is really enjoyable.
100%, a lot of bgers don’t have basic addons to help them see what’s happening around them. DR is a foreign concept to a lot of them too
I’ve been playing my rogue and the amount of people who trinket sap is… more than i thought lol. A pally in a skirmish bubbled my first sap and i died inside a bit
An evoker casted anti cc shroud in front of me and then seemed confused when i just sapped the charges off
I don’t think add-ons should be able to provide this sort of information. It should either be a part of the base UI or not available at all.
I think this is a big issue with the modern game. Blizz designs the game around players having these types of add-ons, which creates a massive “skill” gap between players who have downloaded them and those who simply play the game as it is.
When the difference between victory and defeat can be so heavily determined by whether or not you have installed a 3rd party add-on, there’s a problem with the game that needs to be addressed.
why blizzard doesn’t have an integrated DR tracker in the base UI yet is mind boggling
even omnibar for interrupt tracking should be baseline. tracking interrupts mentally in a 15v15 fight without omnibar is not fun
First time playing WoW PvP?
Been like this since 2004.
yeah i totally agree with this. I downloaded bg targets or whatever that addon is that shows who the healers are and what CDs are currently on CD and its making such a difference in my gameplay. it really shouldnt be such a large factor in pvp success how many addons you decided to find and download.
We should just remove all loss of control mechanics entirely. I’ve never really been a fan of them in any game. Knockbacks, slows, damage/healing dampening… etc… are all fine. Stuns need to go. Mages and Rogues will need some to be changed obviously, but there are much more creative things that we could do with those classes that could make more sense.
So true . I will always remember the first time I saw a shaman use grounding with his back to me and eat my burst. I was so confused as to how he even knew I was there before I discovered weak auras.
People in bgs use their medallion off CD on the first CC that hits them. Rather than saving it for a time that matters.
TBH, I think to make the game healthy, they need to remove CC from most classes in PVP.
Think like Overwatch. Most people don’t have access to CC themselves, they need to rely on their tank teammates. Why is this not a thing in WoW pvp? OW has much much better PVP. So does HotS for that matter, and they have a similar philosophy. There’s no reason why holy paladins or rogues should have access to a 5 second stun in PvP or anyone having a permaslow.
I mean, I would love it if Blizz could figure out PvP in WoW, but it’s never once been in a healthy, fun place.
Actually wouldn’t mind more cc reduction in bgs
I’ve had games where I’ve eaten 70+ cc’s
Insane
Buffing the trinket cc reduction to 30-40% just in unrated battlegrounds would make it a lot more fun for everyone. (especially healers)
This is a great suggestion if your goal is to ruin WoW PvP.
I’ve never used addons to see what other people have available. I just assume that everyone has all their CD’s and approach accordingly. When they use nothing (or everythings on cd) and die, I appreciate it.
In a more intimate mode like dueling or arena, I kinda just keep track of stuff mentally, or with my own Cds. like I know they trinketed my blind so I know their trinket’s coming up roughly when my blind does. etc. But with so many people it’s really a rainy day scenario for me. Maybe they have CDs, maybe they don’t. Either way I’m gonna fight them here lol.
