Catch a summon to TWW zones on a level
10 and run around ganking level 80s. Oh how the turn tables
I honestly dont get the reason a few people keep asking for this. What actual good is it? Will there suddenly be more world PvP springing into being? Will ganking become fun for the ganked? Will factions not swing wildly out of balance because, yeah, that never happened before? Will people not just sit around in their cities waiting for the same battlegrounds and arenas they can play on normal servers?
What exactly would change?
I agree. We need a PvP server. Those who think this idea is silly can continue playing on PvE servers and refrain from painting a picture in such threads that the community doesn’t need a PvP server.
We need a PvP server ideally, all servers should become PvP because this is a world of martial craft.
Well that’s good good way to get me to quit after decades of playing.
Don’t worry, that comment has to be troll because no-one would seriously consider that to be a good idea. I need to go make that “silliiest post/comment of the day” image…
I 100% support this. It has 0 impact on anyone who doesn’t want to pvp. I don’t pvp anymore, but I did a lifetime ago on original pvp servers. I doubt it’ll be the same, but if we can have classic servers, hardcore servers, remix servers ect; one pvp one can’t possibly hurt.
Right now the total number of weekly players (according to the raid logs) for US West PvP is a total of just over 9,000. Thats for multiple servers with some of the busiest US servers.
I have no interest in the idea and would never make a character there but I would rather they spend money on making the normal servers and game better than something that would probably die in a very short time.
The resources for 1 server is rather negligible and it sounds like 9000 players would be happy
You already have pvp servers. Its called warmode. Turn it on and go have fun with the other dozen non players that cant hang in an arena or battleground.
Thats 90000 a week not 9000 online at any one time.
And neither you nor I know how much doing anything in the game costs. But it is a number above 0.
Look, its not going to happen, so I really dunno why I’m taking a side on it. If people want pvp, then turn on warmode, never turn it off, and you would effectively have the same thing. Issue is, players like convenience so most of them turn it off as is convenient.
If quitting the game is easier for you than pressing buttons to engage in a world of martial craft, then you’ve spent ten years on a game that simply isn’t for you.
Pretty sure I’ve been playing a game I enjoyed here already. Changing it to make people quit isn’t the way to go
From my perspective PVP is always going to be in a tough spot until they’re forced to give PVP alternatives to obtain the majority of items obtainable through PVE content.
I play too intermittently to be good as good as I used to. I haven’t played for a couple days. I don’t have PVP friends and if I try to make PVP friends randomly online it will be difficult and stressful for newfound “friends” even if I do the right things, what happens when they screw up LOL.
Anyways there are not much rewards or incentives to play casually PVP wise especially. If I can pay 15000 bloody tokens, conquest, or honor, marks of honor for some mount I won’t ever use from an old outdated raid I don’t want to farm for every Tuesday at least I can be satisfied with adding to my collection.
Same applies to mog, I had to farm these shoulders forever. Idk the drop rate, but I guess if the drop rate is below 10-15% then maybe you should have to try the old fashioned way. Probably shouldn’t be able to buy ashes of alar via PVP but stuff with relatively high drop rates from old content, YES!
PVP servers causes some initial problems that could only maybe be helped by introducing better PVP systems overall. They can’t just drop a PVP server and leave it like that. There needs to be gradual and significant improvements to the PVP experience world PVP and otherwise before a PVP server is ever done. We need creative and new things introduced before letting them just revert back to PVP servers and call it a day.
One idea that I feel would help across the board is allowing people who are doing content in warmode to aquire an account bound XP token instead of a level. The details of this are solvable, but more to the point. It makes the leveling experience in wow flow better because you have a constructive means to apply levels when you feel like you need them in the open world. As of right now you can outgrow the zone you are questing in and before that happens you have already been one shot-ing every NPC.
This gives flexibility to for players who want to learn their class all three+ specs even. Or want to continue quest chains earning XP for later use, either on the character they are playing or another. Also the gankers will be slightly more happy, not many left though.
I’d also say that this would probably even increase level boost sales/usage given the xp tokens may stack. However, there probably should be some gatekeeping on this at the beginning of the expansions.
I don’t disagree that wow needs PVP servers, I just think that it needs more than PVP servers before attempting to make PVP servers again.
I’ve seen it asked for time and time again. I won’t be using it, but just like a Brazilian or Australian server (or even like a hardcore retail server) I say sure have fun, doesn’t hurt me.
I’m sure that because of you, among others, we lost PvP realms, realms that were always better populated than PvE realms for PvP incompetents like you.
Never played on them. I never would have, and I never asked for them to be taken away from those that had them, but thanks for the blatant insult.
The insult here is simply that you came into this discussion to express your opinion based on your understanding that you don’t know how to play and that your PvE worlds existed as a reservation. You (those who played on PvE) always understood that you were losing part of the content, but you were not able to participate in it because you always lose.
The closure of PvP worlds was a result of your envy.
That’s exactly why you don’t want PvP realms to exist. You also want to play on them, but you understand that you have zero chance of winning in open world PvP. That’s why you come into such discussions every time and argue that PvP realms are not needed.
I feel disgusted.
No, I don’t want all reams forced into PvP, which is what I responded to. I never complained about PvP at all in any other way. I even quoted it.
Please explain what I was envious over since I never chose to participate in something I knew I wouldn’t like while never asking for it to be taken away from anyone?
I clearly stated I do not, but that I never asked for them to be taken away from those that do.
Don’t lie. You’re in this thread. Someone started a topic asking for a game world with PvP status, and you’re immediately here every time saying it’s not needed, IT’S NOT NEEDED FOR YOU, and you don’t need PvP realms because you’ll be envious that someone has more content than you, and this content isn’t available to you because you’re incapable of participating in it.
Correct. Changing every server is not needed for me.
If they made some, then I’m all for it for those that want them.
And since I don’t want to PvP, I wouldn’t need envious at all if others have it.
