I’d like to bet money a lot of the people saying “Delay the game!” Have BETA access. I’d support the delay too if i logged into Shadowlands everyday and had access to new content.A lot of us don’t have that luxury. Content on live/retail has gotten so stale. Most of us already have multiple max alts, Nyalotha Heroic/Mythic Geared, professions maxed, most achievements you wanted done etc. Its been 9 months since new content (Raid visions etc) has come out.
Yeah because maintaining the back end infrastructure of an enterprise at World of Warcraft’s level is inexpensive.
Anyway at this stage a delay of a month would be pushing it. A full half year would be insane. No one would agree to it and any corporate head who asked for it would be sectioned and anyone less important will be ignored. Shadowlands is coming in a month.
Too much competition this Holiday season. They would hemorrhage subs if they did it. Perfectly understandable as to why they are trying to meet their deadline. Hopefully they can accomplish it with few issues.
What is exactly stopping you from playing the game after 6 months and coming back when you think the game is upto your standard ?
Why make the decision yourself to delay for rest of the world when you are not any position or have any data to perform or support your cause ?
now you just threw a random number, based on what you calculated six entire months?
I planned my subscription to run out 3 days before the date.
Could I wait? Eh probably. Does it need 6 months more of testing and polish? No. Why? Cause Shadowlands is enjoyable from everything that I’ve done in the Beta.
Now, I’m not going to disagree that there are a few systems that need a bit more polishing, but for the most part everything to get the pre-patch out the door is there and ready to go. This will give them 3-4 more weeks to work on a few of the minor bugs that are present (and could possibly be fixed since they are very recent bugs) that would need to be fixed for launch. Then they have another 2 weeks to get the final bug and tuning fixed for raiding.
Blizz has plenty of time as developers to get what they need done, done. Is it going to be prefect? Hell no! It is every? Tweaking and hotfixing will happen. Things will change post launch like always. Blizz will need to see what the whole community is doing and work around that balancing rather than a sample size. Planning for 9.0.5 is already on the way and even then, they probably won’t have it right cause this game is ever evolving.
I miss the motto: It’s ready when it’s ready
Sorry… Blizzard doesn’t answer to players, they answer to shareholders.
No delay at all. It’s totally finished. You have no evidence to the contrary.
What makes you think more time would solve the issues? The same developers are still making the same calls.
More time does not equal better. More time sometimes just means mores bad systems piled on top of bad systems.
There’s no way they delay it, especially for that long. I’m sure they’ll have to give quite a few refunds if that’s the case. How about prepaid subscriptions? Many people I know just prepaid with the anticipation of shadowlands. I have nothing left in bfa I want to do, and nothing worth my sub. That’s a mess blizzard won’t want to deal with.
I know what you can do! YOU unsub for 6 months, come back, then it’s been 6 months for you.
Have you been living as a hermit for the past few months?
Someone hasnt been paying attention to the beta
Duke Nukem Forever was both delayed and rushed. Also, Duke was never the king. Everyone knows Caleb was and still is the real King.
Not 6 months. That much of a content drought wild actually kill a MMO. Another month or two sure, but 6 months would severely hurt the playerbase
I woundn’t get mad if they delay six months really.
My guess is they won’t delay it; it’ll come as is just like BFA did.
Even if we gave Blizzard another 3 years, they would still find away to release a completely bugged and incomplete expansion that players would need to beta test while playing it.
