We Find Out What 8.3 is in 4 Days

Im banking on Murky being the final boss!

I definitely don’t feel like i know based on that cinematic, but if I had to guess, im going with some void-corrupted Azshara. I know that sounds lazy, but i think most of the assests are being funneled into making huge changes for the next expac, so reusing Azshara actually makes a lot of sense.

Whoever it is, it won’t be a fitting end to the expansion if we don’t get to jump into animal or vehicle themed robots that combine to form a giant robot to the fight the big bad!

Exactly!!!

Childish? Maybe people keep calling it SoO 2.0 because, just maybe, it is incredibly similar in its story arc?

1.) Garrosh, a relatively new leader, wants to reshape the Horde into his more perfect true Horde through racial superiority.
2.) Garrosh launches an invasion into Ashenvale to further his goals by gaining territory/resources and weakening the Alliance.
3.) Find a new continent. He wants to “paint it red” to bolster the Horde.
4.) Gets enthralled by “evil” things he wants to control/use offensively, the Sha, and weaponize it against his enemies. Unlocks the remnants of an Old God and draws power from it.
5.) A faction leader stands up against him and starts a revolution. Almost dies because of assassination.
6.) Revolution is successful, faction leader becomes new Horde leader.

Isn’t that almost verbatim what we’ve experienced so far?

1.) Sylvanas, a relatively new leader, wants to reshape the Horde into her more perfect vision via bringing more undead into their ranks by eventually turning Stormwind (maybe not quite racial superiority, but sure is focused on only her “race”).
2.) Sylvanas launches an invasion into Darkshore and burns Teldrassil to further her goals by gaining territory/resources and hopefully weakening the Alliance.
3.) Get to new islands, tries to bolster the Horde’s ranks.
4.) Gets enthralled by “evil” things she wants to control/use offensively, Xal’atath, and weaponize it against her enemies by leading their fleet right into a trap. Unlocks one actual Old God and one possible Old God because of it.
5.) A faction leader and semi-faction leader stands up against her to start a revolution. One was the target of an assassination attempt, the other is imprisoned and was saved from execution.
6.) ?

Quite literally the only thing left to make the story arcs way too similar is if a revolution actually does occur and we attempt to overthrow Sylvanas together. It’s not like that is “condensing” the story down or over-generalizing it. Even if the end result isn’t exactly identical, by Sylvanas being alive, having a secret plan revealed, or because an Old God is on the loose, it’s hard to argue the paths aren’t almost parallel.

Also, seeing those similarities and then making light of it by suggesting it’s the equivalent of comparing WoW to LotR is silly.

Dang it, man. Beat me to it.

It wasn’t nothing, it looks like Jaina and Lor’themar are going to be the end of expansion raid bosses

Still waiting to find out what 8.3 is…
