Just to clarify, the number of posters in forums of any sort are always a minority. People who want to discuss things with strangers on the internet are a vocal minority, regardless of what the site is about.
Disregarding obvious trolls, there is no reason to think that opinion of forum regulars does not represent a general player consensus.
