Watching DPS die because they pulled

What god complex are you talking about? , all we did was stand and watch a guy kill themselves because of their chosen actions.

They’re going to endure my /train spam and like it, gawldurnit!

Its satisfying But apparently being in the camp of “You pull it and not Misdirect or TOTT it you tank it.” Makes you a diva tank

Nah it’s stupid from anyone who say training the tank is why they pull. Tanks just need to be less self entitled and speak out if there’s something they don’t know. It would alleviate most tensions for both the Tank and the rest of group.

Besides, it’s not during the End of an expansion you start to learn new stuff. Join a guild for that or make friends. Wait Dragonflight and start off fresh like everyone else.

The right thing to do would be just to pick up the mob and continue with the dungeon

Assuming in this situation even still happens in the first place, which it doesn’t.

Yesterday my level 53 queued to tank Necrotic Wake because of the quest. We phased in. I ran over to the side to pull trash along the wall. I saw a hunter sending his pets into the mid. I figure that was a sign that the hunter wanted to tank the instance. Who am I to deny him this challenge? So I turned around and walked out of the instance. As I dropped group, I noticed someone had said, “Tank left”.

If the tank doesn’t have agro don’t attack it. Should be basic game knowledge.

If the tank doesn’t have aggro, they should get aggro. That is the main goal of tanking.

That’s exactly when you want to learn new stuff though, so you’re prepared going into the new expansion…

Yes precisely.

Depends on the environment. For runs with guild members and friends list people, sure, but one can’t really have much in the way of expectations in pugs. Despite your best efforts with filtering (raiderio, etc) it’s the luck of the draw, same as random BGs. Expectations only work with organized runs.

If the tank doesn’t have aggro, and the ranged DPS who pulled it is out of range, that player is out of luck.

the amount of bad diva tanks in this post is too damn high

It doesn’t because its the off season and second ,lfds are a joke

…and higher m+  it has a leaver problem so… I guess it does happen if the tank doesn’t get their way

Leveling dungeon anecdotes are like reading news from Florida.

Hah true, I’ll do what I can to pick stuff up as a tank but if you’re running around out in Narnia don’t expect me to bend over backwards to come rescue you. At the absolute bare minimum DPS should be pulling crap to the tank.

As is the number of bad diva DPS.

I’m not going to drag the pack 50 yards away to save somebody who intentionally pulled something they shouldn’t have, something that didn’t even need to be killed. Accidents will always happen, but that’s not an accident. It’s a mistake.

Wouldnt be the first time… hehe :joy:

But seriously, a person used to being slow and constantly questioning their own actions and 2nd guessing makes a bad tank. Tanks need to be quick on their feet and know what their abilities and when to use them. If not, its going to be a lot of wipes and in M+ a few busted keys.

Yes, by all means, teach them all that in a couple of leveling runs. You realize half the “big defensive” and “active mit” abilities aren’t even available to tanks at low levels, right? Not to mention that the tank may literally not know the way around the dungeon and needs to look at the map to figure out where to go, while the “uber” DPS are already a mile away. Sometimes the tank will say that they are new and learning, and the group will accommodate, but most times they will either ignore or kick him. Which brings us back to my original argument: don’t complain that you don’t have tanks at max level. No one needs that kind of abuse in a video game.

I’ll admit it I havn’t played much of SL and got back at the tail end with new Talent tree, that actually is quite interesting to me except level 60 builds seem to sucks compared the potential of level 70 with 10 more points.

Learning and catching up has been hard, SL dungeons are not easy to learn being more open door or maze designed with multiple routes and covenent’s shortcuts.

It’s no easy feat to get back into the game. But I suck it up and just admit I do not know this content. I won’t wear pink-rose tinted glasses and say it does always make it better, but being a WoW veteran, I can confirm that speaking out does improve the situation in most situations.

The forums hardly represent a fraction of the actual in game experience.
