Not completely disagreeing, but I have friends I play with and the game just isn’t as fun as it once was. Too much going on these days. Multiple offensive cds. Multiple defensive cds. Tons of CC overall. It’s tiring. Game is no longer managed by people who care.

Most of the people doing shuffle would completely quit. Get 3 bad healers in a row? No thanks. At least in the current chaos there is a chance for all things being equal for everyone.

Right now, I’d rather wait and have 10-15 minutes of engaging play and then have 10-30 minutes of down time. I don’t want to babysit some dumb queue. 4-5 minutes of waiting for 2-3 minutes of play? I’ll do it with friends, but no randoms. Also, if you think shuffle is stacked with BM now…

There are 0 ways to solve this besides increasing healer participation.

Arena diehards are mad cos they can’t farm lfg groups anymore. If it wasn’t for shuffle and blitz, this wow mod would be dead by now.

Nah, if neither existed they’d just be playing arena.

Who tf wants to play no comms agaisnt smurfs? There is no fun in it. There is a reason why boosts were so prevalent, so you can link something for an invite, even then people snob u out depending on season.

You can take your tin foil hat off, you’re not good enough to play into smurfs with no coms tbh. If you were, you wouldn’t be whining about it because you can just win.

Buying a boost for exp to get invites is wild :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

It 100% works though, I used to ride a cata s2 hero title to get into rbg invites I had no business getting years later.

Yeah, for sure. Still funny.

Aint whining brother, just telling you soloq helped the pvp numbers as a whole. Brought all the random bg players into rated.

Yeah you should know a thing or 2 about your clientele, cmon.

This toon is 637 ilvl, will be capped next week most likely even with gems in every slot fully enchanted and embellished… Won’t ever que for arena ever again. No reason to…it’s a dog water part of the game that makes no sense compared to all the other forms of pvp in the game. From the bots to the throwers to the people just rage quitting mid match it just simply isn’t worth the aggravation at all. Certainly not for a mount being the only real reason to do it. No thanks. Y’all can keep the 5 minutes stun contest. I’m gonna go top charts in blitz and obliterate people in wpvp where the fun still exists.

It’s crazy we have Trump re elected, Diddy in jail but extremely jaded arena players STILL can’t admit that having a 6 round round robin is the future and glorified 3v3 battle is dead.

This is the symptom of someone’s who’s entire personality revolves around in game
PvP accolade. Absolutely shameful

Which part isn’t clicking for you my fellow low rated priest? That everything around you can change but wow arena pvp is meant to stay the same forever?
Honestly, lil bro, grow up.

45 min…

I’m at 2155 right now at ~14min wait time.

Albeit, during non-peak hours I can see times ~30min.

I think there’s a lot of just ‘learn to play’ in the pos there, but I think some things that would be good to out right call out is that the system is just dated.

I hope we can see a design system come out that’s similar to league, as this would focus less on the numerical value of your rating and more placement within certain tiers. Right now, what’s frustrating to constantly read is: “Why am I fighting gladiators at 1800?” In some cases, the % of people getting Gladiator in certain seasons is near the equivalent of what 1800 is now. A 2800 player 1 season could be worse than a 2500 player the next… artificial number systems.

IMO, we should be targeting that league-style design to combat this perception challenge…

Tier Structure

The tiers are designed to represent skill levels clearly:

  1. Bronze
  2. Silver
  3. Gold
  4. Platinum
  5. Diamond
  6. Master
  7. Grandmaster

Each tier, except for Grandmaster, is divided into three divisions (e.g., Gold III, Gold II, Gold I), allowing for more granular progression.

Progression Within Tiers

  • Earning Points: Players earn points by winning arena matches. A win grants a set number of points, while a loss may deduct fewer points.
  • Division Advancement: Accumulating enough points fills the progression bar, advancing the player to the next division within the tier.
    • Example: A player in Gold III wins matches to fill their progression bar. Upon filling it, they move to Gold II.

Promotion Matches

When a player reaches the top division of a tier and fills their progression bar, they enter a Promotion Series.

  • Format: Best-of-five matches against players in the higher tier.
  • Objective: Win three out of five matches to advance to the next tier.
    • Example: A player in Gold I enters promotion matches to Platinum. Winning three matches promotes them to Platinum III.

Demotion Matches

If a player’s point total drops significantly, they may enter a Demotion Series.

  • Format: Best-of-five matches to defend their current tier.
  • Objective: Win at least two matches to remain in the tier.
    • Example: A player in Platinum III loses matches and enters a demotion series. Winning two matches keeps them in Platinum III; losing results in demotion to Gold I.

Seasonal Rewards Based on Ranks

At the end of each season, players receive rewards corresponding to the highest tier they achieved.

Reward Examples

  • Bronze: Minor cosmetic items (e.g., tabards, banners).
  • Silver: Unique mounts or pets with silver-themed designs.
  • Gold: Exclusive armor sets or weapon skins.
  • Platinum: Special animations or emotes.
  • Diamond: Titles reflecting their prowess (e.g., “the Fearless”).
  • Master: Highly coveted mounts with unique models.
  • Grandmaster: Legendary items or transmog sets not obtainable elsewhere.

Incentivizing Progress

  • Milestone Rewards: Players receive smaller rewards as they progress through divisions and tiers.
    • Example: Upon reaching Gold II, a player might receive a unique weapon enchant effect.

Visible Progression Bars

To enhance transparency and motivation, progression bars are displayed prominently in the arena interface.

Features

  • Progress Tracking: Bars show current points and points needed for the next division.
  • Win/Loss Indicators: Recent match outcomes are displayed, showing streaks or patterns.
    • Example: A progression bar shows 80/100 points needed to advance to Gold I, with the last five matches indicated as W-W-L-W-W.

You know they wouldn’t, they’d be in here again, complaining about not being able to get into groups in LFG.

Nah I started playing arena for 1800 rewards when solo modes came out. Otherwise I rely on my old arena partner from wrath coming back, which only happened during covid

Blizzard used this system in both StarCraft ladder and HotS. Strangely never implemented in wow

If you say so lvl 72 hunter.

Challenge impossible for you I’m afraid.
