Ah, I get it. To keep people quiet you move their posts to places like these so good points get lost in the endless abyss.
Blizz actively trying to shut people down on the forumsâŚ
What do you mean? This is the official thread on the topic, located in general discussion, and has been consistently at the topic of active threads since it was posted.
Its silly to have dozens on threads on the same topic when we can talk about it here
I think itâs good that the WoW team is finally starting to understand that the community needed information that the company was not providing, 19 years late.
My question for the Devs is this, Why when you started making major UI changes especially to the map and quest tracking did you not listen to the community then? We literally told you we wanted a âCartographyâ type map system and instead we got a horrible non interactive map that still requires an addon or 3 to be functional.
I swear you people are in your own little bubble of utopia because the people who have played this game for 20 years are still trying every expac you release because we are hopeful you will get it mostly right at least 1 more time. I guess as long as we are still buying you will still have blinders on thinking its ok. One day this will al be gone and it will solidly be the fault of the people working at Blizzard. How many more chances do you think youâre going to get?
Likely:p
Only real issue with controller is its a pain to click target important mobs. That is the big barrier you are effectively reliant on tab targeting
That was my first thought.
I see dozens of topics on this. But mine was detailed and well presented⌠Oh and also the only one that got moved
Eh, I think one of the big reasons people are complaining about that game right now is the story has just beenâŚnot great, in a game that has been pretty widely praised for its narrative style.
AlsoâŚFF can be hard, lol. Itâs pretty much the same as WoW, with casual content, and then harder content (called Savage and Ultimate, probably comparable to Heroic and Mythic in WoW)
It has a penalty though. You wonât get great dps with it because it gives a longer GCD.
The required add on bloat and obvious tuning to match them has been an issue for years. Not sure if these are the right fixes as it is a little vague but I think itâs good they are working towards it.
Dude they make the game for sweet lords sure a crappy addon they putting in the game for some people to use. But the Sweet Lords 1% people they listen to is why the game is terrible. Stop making the End game content for the 1% people.
Ion talks about getting wow to a point where we dont need addons well hell you are the man in charge do it make the damn changes your working on a X-pac right now DO IT. Stop acting like you cant do something when you can and then ban all addons Just do it.
And stop making the game around addons.
I wannt be a sweet lord
I donât care that they are making their own versions. I am strongly against restricting others combat mods in raids. Let people choose what they want to do, weâve used them for decades and the worlds not fallen a part.
Its because they are sweet lords and blizzard is in the van with the candy.
That seems like a pretty fair estimate just throwing one out there. I absolutely think there is a much larger percentage than a lot of the people that are opposed to the button assist think. WoW has a very beautiful and vibrant community of people with disabilities/new/casual players that deserve to have aqccessibility features.
People who are barely at or above average who maybe do 2 bosses on mythic are butthurt about something that even the RWF people that wow devs cater too are like âalright cool for people who will use itâ
Finished the video, seems cool. I think people are too excited to get their pitch forks. Besides the final numbers not coming out, even with what they showed there is concepts to ensure itâs not the skilled playerâs requirement. The 0.2 second delay added to everything will add up⌠You canât reach peak skill ceiling with that⌠Additionally it canât always be optimal even without the time loss (either for your living, like mechanics, or because of other situations going on).
Generally I imagine it will raise the floor, so duty finder type content is just more enjoyable (as youâre not watching people play as bad as often as before), but you couldnât peak charts if you used it.
This is probably going to be useful for some sort of console or control scheme different options too (guess), if they wanted WoW on console for example. Steam deck wow lol. Although I imagine the condense to like 4-8 archetypes would have been better, a lot for a controller but absolutely reasonable.
If too easy to be âquite goodâ, because youâd want even the people trying to improve but arenât that good yet not to feel like âshould just press the one button, cause itâs way betterâ, they could still reduce it but I think B quality at a button is fine. Especially as they have the highlight option, so you can improve fairly smoothly without even switching to one button .
As for the other stuff thatâs super awesome. The telegraphing in WoW, coming from FFXIV, was really lacking and I was regularly thinking âwhat the heck was I supposed to doâ. Then I read a debuff that says I was supposed to jump, like what? lol. Adding defined AoEs is a great start, but there are a lot of informative mechanics that can exist. Then I installed DBM / Big and it was like âohâ (also presentation of the game begins to degrade as the addons have to make do with what they got).
I hope they work on plater / blizzplate like features as well. They mentioned fatal spells, so thatâs kind of related, but definitely I feel less informed in WoW vs default FFXIV UI (and both games with their addons compared to default I feel like Iâm blindfolded lol). Itâs so nice to know that a spell can be kicked, stunned, fatal, etc. Like in FFXIV a tank buster (fatal adjacent concept) usually have a specific UI telegraph, this way you know you should be pre-shielding / using defensive. ⌠The enmity of monsters near me, whose the target of my target, all really nice to have.
Also how those addons work they show the plates through walls, which can make the game ugly. Making a default plate UI would make the game visually more pleasing. Some places in Undermine are just a wall of plates and little bit of goblin (unless you sit and tweak out certain mobs).
Just some aside addons I wanted to toss in for personal bias reasons:
buff fury warrior
