Watch the WoWCast : Special Add-On Edition

Any current in game add-on may be worse, unless Blizz decides to buy them out directly. I’m not sure, but probably add-ons are intellectual property and can’t be copied step for step.

I’m new to this info and don’t have a strong opinion either way, but I get why the in-game versions will be lesser ones, as least for a while.

we had those starting back in MoP

miss my farm :frowning:

if you’re gonna go this route, then you need to do combat skillchains that change when you press one skill so the combat and maybe some animations can get a friggin’ update and cut down on some bloat.

this will certainly make the class imbalance painfully obvious.

Maybe there will be more balance work?

Good, between this and the NPC dungeons we will get more ppl willing to try other classes and specs imo. Especially with healers and tanks imo

The thing they need to do is if they are going to “replace” addons with “default” ui elements is the entire customization needs to be there FROM THE START not X patches or Expansions later. This should also be something that is done at Expansion LAUNCH vs mid expansion (X.0.0 patch vs x.0.5/7)… the cooldown manager they added is a great example… the only option is has is on or off nothing else… making it useless for a vast majority of people…

disco priest should be fun with this, can’t wait to try it out :dancer:

Shoot, I would just be happy if auto looting actually looted the loot without having to loot a second time every time I wanted to loot something. :unamused:

game definitely needs an animation overhaul.

especially Spellcasters.

animations and spell effects/textures for the older classes need to be brought up to DH/Evoker standards.

and Spellcasters need to finally use their weapons in their casting animations.

UP, Ultimate Penance, has the coolest animation in the game rn imo.

srsly thinking of putting a /s to my button that goes “Uppies go brrrrr…” whenever I cast it

Me too tbh, it will be nice to use this as a learning tool to learn other specs in alt classes I play especially healing and tanking on my monk

it’s the same animation as divine hymn. main difference is you’re in the sky. so yeah, i’d like not the same reusable animations. another one is that mage big circle spell. looks cool, but the same vanilla animation from our characters. it’s just dated and makes combat kinda meh. how many times do we need to see the man belf pull something out his behind like he’s carrying simba? lol.
:cherries:

Not how that works. Blizzard has full control of their code and thus can do whatever they want with any addon.

let me have the big wings permanently, glowly sparks and all, even in shadow form and we got a deal.

Well, no. They would just tell those add-ons to cease and desist. They wouldn’t have to pay the mods anything, since the mods are using Blizzard’s IP.

Ion is specifically gunning for WA and DBM. I wouldn’t get too attached to either.

Ok thank you I wasn’t sure. Like the code that deadly boss mods uses or hekili is dependant on the wow ip, I see.

this all seems great

Instead of integrating nonsense that the add-ons already do well. If they could release a bug-free patch, that would be something new.

On one hand, it’ll make difficult content simpler, while allowing Blizzard to create new, straightforward mechanics that you can naturally react to instead of relying in WA or DBM to tell you.

Time to warm up that ol’ scroll wheel on the mouse.
