Was WOW token good for the player base overall

Only in your head lol. You consistency stop responding when you get called out. I gave you a real example of my paying with a wow token for a raid carry which helped me and you say im lying and thay people dont byy heroic carries for ahead of the cruve?

Go offer a mythic guild money once they clear, they’ll carry you. And if you need another carry next week, just give them some more gold. Also give them gold for a mythic+ run if you need it. GLHF :+1:

I mean sure anyoine will i havent pvp’ed since mists.

now if it was back in mists idc what your gear was i could and would slap your backside down cause rogues are great especially sub

Seriously, to anyone who thinks WoW is pay to win, I offer this challenge.

Go and play any of these games:

APB Reloaded
Maplestory
Neverwinter

Seriously, go and play them, put some genuine time into them (or try to) and then come back and say WoW is pay to win. I doubt you’ll be able to, because those three MMOs are actually pay to win and it shows, while in order to justify WoW as pay to win you gotta do some crazy logic twists due to how everything works.

cool i get the carry.

RNG kicks in i get no gear.

what did i win

So
wait. You just said that i’d win. And I paid. Hrm.

She is so bad faith it doesnt matter what you say she will just change her arguement wasting time

my guy i have absolutely no skill in pvp any more anyone could beat me its not hard

No bad faith. you just cant defeat the argument so its now trolling or bad faith to you

There are people who play the AH like it’s their main game. There are addons that help people scan for auctions to buy up and relist. And if you’re looking at reagents and commodities, those are region-wide now.

What’s more likely, that Blizzard is having their employees force down AH prices for
reasons
? Or that someone in the entire of the North Americas bought something, and then someone else listed their stack of ores for lower than the going price to make it sell faster?

What would Blizzard even possibly gain by tanking AH prices? If anything, they’d gain by making them higher so that people are more likely to bleed out all of their gold and buy more.

You can add arguing a point to that list

The token didn’t create this problem. You can theoretically make the same argument for muktiboxing.

Though it did make it more accessible which may have various knock on effects that have yet been unexplored in this post

Not quite.

There are always going to be worse offenders. Of those games you listed, Diablo Immortal eclipses nearly all of them, and Diablo Immortal is eclipsed by just about any Chinese/Korean mobile game.

The sooner we start approaching P2W as a spectrum instead of a rigid, concrete definition, the sooner these discussions will actually play out better.

you can add “cant answer anything” to yours

Bad faith is creating a thread knowing that it will devolve into a toxic mess. These token threads are just as bad as the representation ones. At least the representation ones have a more legit reason to start the thread even if they are just trolling.

Pay again.
Whales will have way more than enough to get several carries through M+ dungeons and Mythic gear, very unlikely you’re walking away from all of that with nothing. But even if you are, you get vault based on high keys you paid for, guaranteed loot, and you have an advantage over others by just being able to chain buy runs.

Between that, buying max’d out crafting gear, and buying boe’s - you’ll be good.

Don’t find it worth it? Cool, me neither. But whales do and that token helps them to be able to do it.

I’m not against the token though, just saying.

pay to win even though GENUINE pay to win games explicitly make payment systems that are an absolute advantage over everyone that doesn’t pay

except it doesnt do that funny

Oh no you’re right there are WAY WORSE full on p2w games than WoW.
I’d say WoW is a soft-p2w game, not a massive full on p2w game like what you see in the East, but it still has p2w vibes me to me as massive gold can give massive advantages, and if you only had to swipe your card to get it - that’s p2w-ish.

Gotta prep for raid but you were nice to talk to, have a nice evening!

all you did was pay for a spot in a raid for HOPES of getting gear.

where you have to keep doing it each week in order to HOPEFULLY get gear. thats not pay to win that just buying a spot in a raid.

which anyone can do wow token or not it does not guarantee you gear of any kind

In theory it is possible to buy a token and not get any gold, as Blizzard in no way has agreed to give you any. You are 100% reliant on a player earning gold to buy your token.
Compared with the few true P2W games I have played WoW is no where near P2W.
